Jagr doesn't make the team (7th in league scoring) while Shanahan (21st in league scoring) and Jason Blake (35th in league scoring makes it)...
Very very confusing selection of Blake. I know they like to try and share the wealth for the all-star game.. but leaving out Jagr and including Blake makes no sense.

And Bowmeester makes the team over Boyle and others who are better at D? Only answer is to spread the wealth. I thought the NHL wasn't going to choose a token player from each team anymore but I guess that's not the case.
Jagr is recovering from injury and wanted to spend the time to do so instead of playing, so it was his call not to come. But I agree, Boyle should have made it!
The only thing I don't really like in the game is Cheechoo. This is what's wrong with fan voting. He shouldn't be able to get a spot because of what he did last season.
"He got robbed," Lightning coach John Tortorella said of Boyle. "It's a joke. He's one of the best players in the National Hockey League. To be left off because of logistics, then don't have an All-Star Team."

Tortorella's comments about Boyle in today's St. Pete Times:
Quote:
"I watch this team, and this team goes nowhere without Danny Boyle," he said. "Dan Boyle is not only one of the best players in the Eastern Conference, he's one of the best players in the National Hockey League."
Boyle is top 5 in goals, points for defensemen.. Tied for 6th in assists for defensemen. I'm not going to say that Boyle is good defensively, but if he keep up that production from the blueline, I can live with some of his misplays in his own end. He's being paid to produce offense, not be a Scott Stevens.

Never said I could spell. At least you can count on me not editing it since I was busted. Some people out their like to edit their mistakes and then call out those who pointed it out in the first place.
