I believe he did see the ice last season when Marchment ran Hemsky's knee's 3 or 4 times in seperate games. Also when Ruutu, Bryan Allen, Jovo, Blake, Hordichuk etc... ran him quite a bit last year. And did nothing. The only time I recall him really doing something about it last season was a very rare occasion when a fellow goon ran Hemmer and that was Simon in Calgary.

A legal bodycheck is not running the guy. What Boogard did tonight was running him.

And Marchment went after Hemmer's knees 3 or 4 times last year?

I must have missed those games.

I was really glad Tom Gilbert played. He wasn't amazing by any stretch, but he's a solid player already. He also doesn't make the bad dumb mistakes that Roy does.

Other than that, we were pretty medium...Hejda shooting it blindly around the boards and playing at the end of games is going to drive me insane...

At least we won. Roloson still doesn't look right to me, even though he made a bunch of excellent saves tonight.

Someone should've knocked Gaborik or another skilled player into next week. IMO Mac-T should've told Raffi to do so and then sit him the rest of the game. Boogard can't be on the ice the entire time, and if he comes at you, turtle so that you get 7 minutes of PP time and he goes off for the ice for 7 minutes.

If the Oilers blew their lead, I would hope an Oiler would take out Gaborik before the game ended. But they held on for the win, so no need to take stupid penalties.

I wonder if Huddy or Simmer would have the stones to send someone out for retrubution in MacTs absence.

So-so win, ugly win, pretty win, it's 2 points.

Did they get lucky? Probably. But I'm not going to stare a gift horse in the mouth.

Do they have work to do? Yes. A game like last night isn't going to get them far in the playoffs. But today, I'm happy with the win. Baby steps.

Definitely been a weird week.

They deserved a better fate against both Calgary and Minnesota in the last 2 games, and they certainly deserved to lose against both the Sharks and the Wild in their last 2 wins.

Strange days...

I don't know about 3 or 4 times but I know he did it once for sure. I think he was the guy that Hemsky got up and gave the "stare" to. Not 100% sure on the last part though.

The SJ game was highway robbery, last night wasn't so much until they turned into porcelain princesses. I havent seen a fragile defense like this before... they were terrified to make a mistake with the lead. insta-icing. No cranial activity whatsoever.

Lowe really needs to call the cavalry asap. The team are adopting a weaker sister mentality its had for so many years again. Waiting for the timebomb to explode.

Dont get me wrong, Edmonton never played that well last night, just Minny never either until Edmonton crawled into its shell. Glaring weakness yet again is Edmontons inability to stop any sort of puck cycle whatsoever.

memo to NHL: generate offense from down low and behind the net against the Oilers. Its pretty much fool-proof.
