I'm going to say Bobby because I think he has a higher ceiling and could possibly be our #1 defenseman but Cally will may end up being top line material but most likely a solid second liner.

You can't go wrong either way though.

Callahan has made a succesful transition from junior to AHL. Cally maybe even belongs ahead of Korps, but he's definitely ahead of Sanguinetti at this point.

Sanguinetti no doubt for me. Cally might be more NHL ready, but Sanguinetti's ceiling is a lot higher.

Not everyone is voting based on who's ceiling is higher...If that were the case Anisimov would be a top 3 prospect. I factor in other things along with the players ceiling.

Sanger! It's a question of possible 1st pair defenseman over the possible 3rd line winger.

I'll never stop laughing about how fans coin ridiculous nicknames for players, like they're good friends.

Sanguinetti... this shouldn't be close...

Seriously man, you take hockey wayyyy to serious if you think about those type of things....its what their teammates call them and we are FANS. Relax a bit and enjoy it and stop thinking about dumb things.

If you think like that shouldn't you be calling Sanguinetti..."Mr. Sanguientti"?

Well maybe they should sometimes? Because this is a PROSPECT poll.. and a huge part of BEING a prospect is based on where you'll wind up.

As an aside, I believe Artem should be higher than Callahan AND Dawes, as well.

Go Boobie! I've been voting for him since round 3. He has the highest potential less artem anisimov and could be our PP QB for years to come! I've said it like 50 times on these boards recently that I cannot wait to see the Rangers D in a few years with Staal, Sauer, Boobie, Toots, Pock, and Baranka

If that's all you want to base how you pick then that's fine, but i think the majority factor in other things as well not just who has the highest ceiling.

Bobbys defense is always in question and until I see improvement in that I don't see him as a top pairing defenseman. If he's still a -14 even with all the points he accumulates then that doesn't quite strike me as a great defenseman. The kid needs a lot of work still, unlike Cally who is quite close to making the NHL

15 of Sanguinetti's 20 goals have come on the powerplay. I can't find how many of his assists came on the powerplay though. So most of his points haven't had an effect on his +/- rating. Also, there are 8 players on his team that are -9 or worse so its not the greatest even strength team around.

That being said he definately has a long way to go to becoming an NHL defenseman and needs a ton of work before he can even think about defending someone at the top level.

This vote is a tough choice as its really just a matter of what you prefer more, top potential vs ready to contribute successfully. I went with Sanguinetti because if I was drafting a team from scratch Id rather take the potential game changer vs the 2nd/3rd line winger. Its just more easy to find a mid-level wing then it is a stud powerplay pointman in my opinion. Again, though I can see arguements for both sides.

Agreed, don't get me wrong its close definitely. But I just question the people who say Bobby or Cally easily over the other.

Listen, re-reading that, I see that it was a little uncalled for and I'm sorry... don't mind me, I'm having oxycodone withdrawal from wrist surgery.

Went with Bobby, i have a feeling Callahan might not translate offensively to the NHL, so he should be a decent 3rd liner. While the other can be an offensive force and solid at D.
