Malakhov's last season in the NHL.

Those of you watching the game via "Center Ice" had the Toronto annoucers last night.

Pierre McGuire claimed to have spoken with Vladimir before the game and learned that this will be his final season before returning home to Russia. Malakhov stated he was proud of his 12+ seasons in the NHL but has decided that enough was enough and he plans to retire.

Doesn't it say a lot about this team, where a guy who is playing his 4th season with this organization, announces he's going to retire, and apparently not a single fan really gives a crap.

So long Malacough, and take your apathetic twin with you.

It makes very little difference what Maladog says as far as the Rangers are concerned. His contract is up after this year. Even if he were to say he wants to play for another 5 years instead of retiring, can anyone actually see the Rangers resigning him? No. So, he can say what he wants to, it's not like there would be many suitors lined up to get him.

Kapra, Lefebvre and Gusarov are all sitting at home saying, "Why didn't I think of that?"

Thanks for the memories Vlad..

I'll never forget your passion for the game and the blueshirt jersey.. You brought your best effort everynight, and never let a teammate down. Your blood and sweat will be remembered in the blueseats forever..

If they had a team full of players like you, things might've been different these last 6 years..

I can't wait until the day they honor you the right way and hang that jersey in the garden rafters..

I remember the time you.... pbbbbbtttttt bwahahahahahahahahahahaha!!

AHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH AH

ahhh.

That was fun..

I like Vladimir Malakhov.

He's not always consistent but I think at times he is our best defenseman. He will be missed for sure.

I'm being 100% serious here as well. Don't know why he gets such a bad rap around here.

Like I said I do like Vlad... that said I'm sure they can give the money he's making to a better UFA after this season. We wouldn't really miss him as long as we grabbed an adequate replacement.

How about one of our prospects for a change?

While I don't think he was the greatest Ranger, Malakhov is one of those guys that I've always liked, I just wish he would shoot more, he's got one hell of a cannon.

You all can make fun of him as much as you like, but I will miss the guy, he was a team player and dropped the gloves a few times to fight for his team. He may have not been a Leetch or a Beuk but it seemed to me these last two years he really has given a good effort most ever night....

He may not have been a Leetch but he wasn't an Ulanov either....give the guy a break.... he wasn't brought in to be a Norris canidate....

So I say good luck to Vlad.

most likely....but respectively i'd have to disagree with you saying he's played like crap tonight....I'd have to say the opposite and echo JD's comments, he looks calm and under control.

I see what you're saying but a different kind of calm....I guess more of a settled into the game.......and granted it may be a bad thing....

but one question pasha....... What Ranger hasn't been inconsistent this year? Everyone has been inconsistent.

Pasha I dont' think I've ever agreed with you more on that first sentence, it's true hahahaha

I guess we all just have our Rangers that we like more than others huh?

Just remember that we're both Rangers fans

Cheers Pasha!

You know, if the guy brought it every night he could have been the best defenseman in NHL history. He had it all: size, strength, a monster shot, great hands, he could even fight. It's just that desire thing.
