Proposal NYR/VAN

Rangers get: Jan Bulis
Canucks get: Adam Hall

A trade of underachieving third liners who could both use a change of scenery to pick up their games a little. Bulis is unhappy in Vancouver and would be much happier playing with a few of his countrymen (Czechs). Hall may be dwindling under the pressure of the MSG and could probably use a little change of scenery.

Didn't Richter absolutely stone Bulis with a spectacular glove save about 4-5 years ago right on the doorstep? I mean, Bulis should've shot it home but somehow Ricky got a glove on it.

Anyway, Bulis for Hall, where do I sign?

Bulis, Fitzpatrick (rhs) and a 3rd for Hall and Rachunek

Opens a spot for Pock and Fitz can provide cover as he has for Vancouver. Bulis would fit in reasonably well I would guess. Does not bring a lot to the table, but good on the PK and has some skill.

No idea what Hall is like, but maybe a lottery ticket for Vancouver in the ever present audition for the Sedins' right wing spot. Rachunek has not been as good as I thought he would be this year but still has some upside.

Both team's fans would love to see this happen. Basically that means it won't.

Know nothing about Bulis... but you can have Hall, so, the deal is a GO.

Dont touch Rachunek though, I actually like him.

Done and done.I think Bulis would be upgrade over Hall, he plays on PK, he is faster skater and maybe even with more grit...he is just 0,5M$ more expensive than Hall.

Hall's Scouting Report per TSN

Assets: Plays a solid up-and-down game, mainly due to good size and strength. Has sound goal-scoring instincts and is always willing to pay the price to light the lamp.

Flaws: Must do a better job of doing the little things on the ice in order to thrive at the NHL level. Still needs to gain more confidence in the offensive zone.

Career potential: Power forward.

Either TSN is waaaaay off or Hall's just having a terrible season.
Sucks how some of us (including me) where excited about this guy becoming a legit force on this team now and in the future.

Pressure? What pressure is he feeling? He's not playing meaningful minutes. He's being asked to carry the offense or kill penalties. He's not being asked to shut down the opposing team's best player.

Funny thing is Hall's season numbers aren't far off from his career numbers. If he was given the same amount of PP time he had in Nash, the difference would even out. What's the point? In terms of production I don't think he's underachieving I think this is the type of player he was in Nashvillem, a checking line player who may not develop into the top 6 forward like we hoped.

When we talk about career totals this low, only 28 points per year, one or two good games puts him right back on pace. Even if he did gave those few good games he's still been a complete non factor on most nights. I guess this is why Nashville traded him for a 3rd/4th liner.

I wonder why Sather did not add something with Dom Moore to get a 3rd round pick instead. At least the Preds got a 3rd and made room for a rookie in the same process.

Kudos for the fair proposal

I'd sign within seconds..

Not sure why you want Burrows, TBBB. I like him, but hes nothing we don't have already.. little more chippy, I suppose.. but only a 4th liner.

Bulis can put up points, surprising he hasn't in VAN, I really liked that addition for them.

I thought Sather would sign Bulis last summer.

November of 2001 vs Montreal. It was a 2-on-0, Rucinsky comes from behind the net with the puck, passes it across to Bulis who is wide open, and Richter comes across and makes one of the best saves I've EVER seen. I'm pretty sure it was November, because I remember Blackburn making his first start against Montreal in Montreal a few days after his 18th birthday.

I'd do it without hesitation.

I'd look to see the pricetags on a guy like Cooke or Kesler while I'm at it as well, even if we don't get either, just for the sake of the inquiry.

Those two players I'd LOVE to have.

Kesler can't be traded until September '07 at the earliest. I think he'll be around for quite a while, one of the few young legit NHL forwards the Canucks have. As for Cooke, I'm sure he could be had for the right price, but he's a contributor to their current team so it'd have to be an overpayment and it'd have to be roster players as the Canucks have no forward depth. With that in mind I doubt Cooke gets traded.

Please take Bulis though, if anyone can get the most out of him it'll be Jagr.
