Is Corvo improving?

Just wondering on what you guys think or have witnessed in Corvo's play of late? I know he was off to a rocky start but I have missed the last 6 games. Is he improving? What is his future?

He's way more aggressive on the PP than Modry but so far has a bad habit of hitting goal posts. It seems as if every other game he'll hit the post.

Also, he doesn't play on the first PP unit, but the second unit along with either Miller or Norstrom and I think that's been hurting his chances as well.

FWIW, Corvo's about 8,032,467 times better than Holland. Corvo's better than Kuznetzov, too. He's also better than Modry.

A lot of times this year, if a "bad" goal is scored I'll look around on the ice and see who the d-men were at the time. Interestingly, Modry's on the ice almost twice as often as Corvo in these situations. That (coupled, of course, with Cechmanek's eratic play which Mo can't cover up for) makes me believe that if either of those two are expendable, it's Modry.

Now, as has been stated, Corvo may be an "average Joe", but you have to look at the rest of the Kings d-men to put into perspective what "average" really means:

Norstrom = well above average

Miller = well above average (though has been taking too many high sticking penalties lately)

Visnovsky = above average

Corvo = average

Modry = below average

Kuznetzov = below average

If I had my wish, it would be Corvo and Vis QBing the PP as opposed to Modry and Vis. If I REALLY had my wish, however, Modry would be traded for ANYTHING!

i'd have to disagree...i think miller is still trying to get in shape...but from what i've seen of him lately, he's been just about average defensively so far this year...he's been taking penalties and losing the puck too often...couple that with problems getting out of his zone sometimes...hopefully he'll get it together soon.

the real surprise so far (even though he's only played a few game) is maxim kuznetzov.

and btw, theres a reason gleason is still in the minors other than what the kings want you to think...
