I can't see the Predators trading away Mason. Rinne hasn't fully recovered yet and Vokoun is still struggling to get back into form. Having two good goalies is a luxury in this league.

I know in some proposals we'd be getting another goalie, but I just don't see that type of deal being made honestly.

Also, names like Radulov and Weber should also be removed from suggested proposals. I don't think there is any chance those players get moved.

Thank you. The Preds have always stuck with their NHL ready kids.

Why would the Preds do this mid-season? We aren't going to take a potential 30-goal scorer (this year) and remove him from the roster unnecessarily. At least not for a player like Rachunek. The Preds have plenty of pieces to make a deal without cutting at the core of the team.

Really like the Boynton deal...If this dosn't work

How about trading one of Franson, Laaksoo or Parent to get the right D-Man

How about jus Franson or Laakso? I really like Parent's game and he's the only defensive shutdown d-man we've got in our prospect pool.

I really like Boynton, but IMO the only thing we have tht would be of interest to Phoenix is Mason. They are pretty set with d-men for the present and future, much like us.

Honestly out of the Three Franson is my favourite... but I understand the point for the type of Dman.

You're probably right about Mason... the only thing is I'd be afraid to see the Preds go for the long run with two goalies that are coming back fron serious injuries... but that is probably the most realistic option with Phoenix

How about Craig Rivet... Mtl as an issue with the fact that Markov-Souray and him will all be UFA next summer and probably won't be able to keep the three of them. He'S not flashy but can be a realy helpfull guy to have around... though Mtl might want to keep him cause he's a big influence in the dressing room and Captain's best friend

But just for sake of discussion...What would Nashville be ready to give for him...

Also Niinima is ready for take out ... all that Bob is asking is that you take him right away (Joking)

Other options I see right now would probably be Aaron Miller, Matthias Norstrom, Adam Foote or Derian Hatcher (if real cheap)

I'd take Franson and Parent out of the trade proposals too. The Predators aren't going to give those two up; they're both signed and close to making the jump to pro hockey. With Guelph unlikely to go into the playoffs, I expect to see Parent in Milwaukee towards the end of this season. Franson will have a longer run with Vancouver, but both will end up Milwaukee. These are top prospects and they're the future of the blueline - not worth giving up to get a temporary older veteran now.

The Predators have been crowded at forward for most of the season. If any trades are done, I would strongly suspect that the Predators will trade some of the forward depth. With Upshall healthy, they're going to have 15 healthy forwards which means 3 healthy scratches per game. Sooner or later, someone's going to end up the odd man out - that's where a trade may happen.

That could be nice... yeah I think it could make sense...

What's his contract situation?

Darius Kasparaitis just got put on waivers by the Rangers... the Preds wouldn't have to give up anything to grab him... if we want a veteran defensive defenseman...

All those injuries this season is worrisome... not that I'm taking this seriously at all.

I wouldn't even be surprised to see the Preds stand pat in the end.

Injuries combined with "isn't good anymore."

We might as well pull Cale Hulse's big sorry rear out of retirement.

Really like the Rivet idea, how does a Rivet for Klein trade sound? fills a hole tht Montreal will def have after this year and gives Nashville a stay-at-homer for the playoffs.

I read somewhere tht Trotz was going to make 5 lines of forwards and rotate the bottom three in and out of the lineup depending on the opponent.

I think the roster shouldnt be tht hard to trim. Heres who i wouldnt mind seeing moved: Upshall, Smithson, and/or Vasicek. We could prolly get a 3rd round pick for Upshall unless hes packaged with another player which is more likely IMO. As for Smithson and Vasicek, I would hope we might be able to get something, anything for them.

I think the Canucks could get a lot more, let alone throwing in a third round pick. Hell, I'd probably do Upshall and a third for Salo.

Jesus.

Upshall's value is at an all time low right now, it would take a lot more to pry a key member of the Canucks blueline out of Vancouver. If Nashville wants Salo, we're looking at Hartnell I would think. Salo + 2nd would do it. These are two key pieces of both teams we're talking about (given both are UFA's I believe). Salo is so important it would take a bit of an overpayment to get him. He's an awesome two-way support defenseman, if you put him on an already solid blueline you'll be over the top.

He undervalued Salo, but you're overvaluing him. This isn't a fantasy league. You don't see deals like that.
