Anybuddy but Nj they all be great series except that one. I would love Toronto but I dont think its will happen. Ottawa would be a great series to. Buffalo for the speed of the games would be killer. Realy its going to be a good playoffs

Finishing in the 4 or 5 spot would almost certainly mean a date with the Sens.

It would definitely be one of the Sens, Atlanta, or Carolina. The latter two are definitely preferable to the former.

The intensity of a Habs-Sens series would be, well, intense.

Ottawa has never beaten a divisional opponent in the playoffs. 0-3 against the Sabres and 0-4 against the Leafs. Record of 12-28 in gp.

Doesn't really mean anything, but just for the record.

Don't know if I "fear" any team. But there are some real tough matches... Sabres and Devils for sure. Carolina and perhaps the Penguins if they are hot going in.

We played the Leafs twice when it really mattered in 06, and we basically ended their season. That's more of a precedent than the times we've dogged it in the regular season vs. the Leafs.

Those games were the highlight of the year for me. They were important games for both teams, and we blew them apart. Plus, the Kova-leveling of Tucker was highlight-worthy in itself.

Why not look at it the other way.

If we get NJ first round, and we beat them, think how much momentum we'd have. It would be hard to stop us from going to the finals.

I'm, not scared of Jersey, it's the Brodeur factor, but with a little luck we can take them.

Well if we have home ice, then NJ isn't quite as bad. We don't win in Jersey. That's the real problem.

That being said, Carolina ran over them last season, but only after they'd played a tough series against the Rangers.

Didn't the Devils slaughter the Rags in the first round?

Hmm. 6-1, 4-1, 3-0 and 4-2. I didn't watch the games for obvious reasons (same schedule as the Habs), but it didn't seem that hard for the Devils.

And at the moment, we don't beat the Devils in Montréal either.

given regular season play which means as much as an expired coupon

matchups i like ...
Atlanta
Buffalo

matchups i don't like
Jersey

i really want the senators my hatred from them has grown so much over the past few years... so arrogant... they are almost at a bruin/leaf level... a playoff series could send them up there.

Pretty much only New-Jersey.

1. Because it would be a oring and endless round
2. Because that damn Brodeur is always lucky when playing against us.

As mentioned...Jersey, we definitely do not want the Devils...for some reason Jersey is our Dragon, and we just don't seem to be able to slay the dragon...

Luck has nothing to do with it. He's psychologically dominating against us.

New Jersey. Someone from TSN mentioned it a couple weeks ago and I agree, Marty is in their heads. They think they can't score against him. Also just don't want to have to watch anyone play NJ in the playoffs.

Carolina's given us trouble but screw being scared, revenge would be sweet.

New Jersey is scary, and Ottawa too, if only because they've had our number this season. I'd like to let someone else deal with Buffalo, too, but I think we have a better shot than any team aside from Ottawa to beat them in a best of 7 series. Carolina would be a hard series, too.
Ottawa has our number? The series is 2-2. And until the 8-3 drubbing the Habs had won 6 of the last 8 meetings. Carolina and Jersey scare me, although I think Jersey is more of a concern.

I don't know why people say Ottawa has our number.

They beat us 3-2 in SO at home, we beat them at home on Halloween night. We creamed them 6-2 in Ottawa and they beat us 8-3 in Ottawa. If you ask me it's pretty even. Last year we were 4-3-1 against them.

I'm looking forward to facing them in the playoff. With home ice advantage preferably.
