I'm surprised Taratukhin hasn't had a shot.

I'm surprised Taratukhin hasn't had a shot.

The guy has 36pts for Omaha including six goals in his last ten games. With many of the other top guys in the AHL being rightly rewarded for good play I'm surprised he hasn't had a shot.

He has an agreement with Sutter that he won't get called up until his family are able to secure residency permits. Taratukhin has just had a new child and apparently has been unable to secure a visa for his child.

He's also still adjusting to pro hockey. Most of the other guys in Omaha have 2+ years under their belt. Taratukhin, Moss, and Prust will play the entire next season with the flames imo.

Agreed. However, if the Flames were to lose one of their top 3 centers at some point for an extended period of time, I think he'd probably get the call. He's really coming on offensively as of late.

I'm not so sure about Prust. He did EXACTLY what the team asked him to do when he was up but to me his game lacks in a lot of areas. No doubt the guy is a very hard working player but I still think talent challenged. I like Boyd more than him although he needs more upper body strength for defensive purposes. Moss looks like he will have to play himself off the team and Taratukhin is I would think dang near a sure thing.

Great center depth for the Flames for the rest of this year -

1.Conroy
2. Langkow
3. Lombardi
4. Yelle

Ritchie and Nilson have also played there. And Taratukhin with his vast international experience could probably step right in as a 3rd line center.

There was an article in the Sun with Sutter explaining why he hasn't recieved the call yet....

http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Hockey/NHL...31585-sun.html

As a prospect, Boyd has much more talent than Prust. Hence, Flames fans should be more excited at having him in the line-up. However, you need to have role players, like Prust, in order to have a complete team. Prust is a perfect 4th line guy. Rather have him on the 4th line, a role he is suited to, than a guy like Lundmark who was on the 4th line, but not suited to playing that role. Prust is basically a younger version of McCarty.
