2007 Top 10

# 1 - Philly: Jakub Voracek/RW -
# 2 - Florida: Patrick Kane/LW
# 3 - Columbus: Karl Alzner/D

# 4 - Los Angeles: Alexei Cherepanov/RW - I think L.A will take a chance on Cherepanov taking him possibly a little higher then he might deserve, the Kings have a steady uprise of young players and i dont see why they wouldnt take a small risk on a high end offensive player such as Cherepanov.

#5 - Chicago: Logan Couture /C
#6 - St. Louis: Sam Gagner/C
#7 - Washington: Angelo Esposito /C
#8 - New York Islanders: James Van Riemsdyk/ LW
#9 - Phoenix: Nick Petrecki/D
#10 - Toronto: Kyle Turris/RW

Sorry, but this pick makes almost no sense. Why would LA take another highly skilled forward right now? With young players and prospects like Cammalierri, Kopitar, Tukkonen, O'Sullivan, Boyle,Lewis Brown, Kanko and Frolov that's the last thing they need.

They will be targetting Alzner because other than JJ they have no worthwhile defensive prospects. I would expect them to either grab Alzner or move down to grab Petrecki or, if he's not available Ellerby or Plante

Yea, i get how Los Angeles already has all the tools to become an offensive powerhouse of a team, but if Alzner is taken i doubt they will move down to take Petrecki, i figure they either take a chance on another Strong offensive player (Cherepanov) and deal another prospect in their system for a defenseman

I really hope the Flyers take Cherepanov with their first pick.

If the draft order shakes out like this, and I'm the Blues picking at #6, I'd take vanRiemsdyk or Turris ahead of Gagner.

I like Gagner, and the Blues could use another skilled center in the organ-I-zation, but vanRiemsdyk has too much size and upside to pass up.

I like James O'Brien for the Blues, too... but not at 6th overall. If the Blues end up picking in the 10-15 range, I'd go with O'Brien if vanRiemsdyk was gone by then, as he likely will be.

Phoenix is pretty stacked with defense prospects. They need scorers. Unless a defenseman is way higher on their list than the next "best player available" they pick a scorer over a defenseman.
