He was a good 4th line guy. See Dean McAmmond.

We stole a goalie from NYI by trading him...well, he was a good goalie until a certain Olympics.

Mats was a great guy, and had pretty good talent but just never could reach it. 9 years ago one of my buddies and I were waiting around the Oilers room for autographs after one of the games and we ended up catching up to him in the parking lot. Extremely nice guy, solid defensivly and on the draws, just never could get much of an offensive game going like was expected.

McAmmond could step up to the top line for PP

Wouldn't use him as a comparison

Mark Lamb might be a better comparison

The name I meant to say was Rem the Gem Murray but Dean came out, probably because they are from the same oiler era.

Mats Lindgren was a beauty. As mentioned, decent 2-way player with a little bit of offensive punch (11 and 13 goal seasons in Edmonton). I thought he was a good fit here - din't really work out anywhere else before heading home.

I think he had a nerve severed during his first season in the AHL and he wasn't the same player after so we never knew how good he could have been.

By the time he came to Edmonton, he was a very smart defensive player without an offensive game.

I seem to remember Lindgren being a ridiculously fast skater. Was that correct, or am I mixing his skating ability up with Todd Marchants?
