Why wasn't Rolston in the hardest shot?

Was anyone else pissed off by this?

I wanted a shattered record.

Coaches decide and then ask guys, from what I've heard. Probably a case of needing to get all the guys involved in the events and Rolston was also a decent candidate for other ones.

He couldn't have done any worse than Rafalski.

It was incredibly disappointing to me. His shot is widely regarded around the league as one of the hardest.

Whoever made the decision didn't know what they were doing. They wasted his talent.

If I had to guess I would bet that was how it went down. Rolston, as the unselfish guy that he is, probaly stood aside and let other guys take his place.

It would have been good to see how his shot compared with the others.

I think they should just let as many guys who want to take a shot do it. It's not like it would add that much time to the thing. It's one of the nicest "events" in the whole competition, I think. So simple, straightforward. Just take the total of the best three to see who gets a "goal" and then add an extra "goal" for the fastest overall.

I would rather have watched more hardest shot competitors than the stupid 3 on 0 where the guys can't really move, so the goalie goes into butterfly and makes the save.

I can't believe the guy's never been clocked. Risebrough ought to settle this once and for all and get him measured. How hard can it be? Just get a radar gun in there someday, and clock him in practice. I'd really like to know where he stacks up, because i honestly don't know if I've ever seen a harder slap shot in my life. Al MacCinnis and Denny Maruk may have had a harder shot, but it wouldn't have been by much. I'd really like to know how he compares.

Not only is it a super hard slap shot, it's super accurate too.
