I wonder if SCThrash would be interested in the "They Said It" section. Pretty much sums up everything most of us said about Sakic's leadership abilities but instead of coming out of fan's mouths it came out of folks like Marty Brodeur, Wayne Gretzky, Larry Murphy, Raymond Borque, Bob Hartley, Joe Thorton, Ryan Smith and Teemu Selanne's mouths.
Leadership by example appears to be a concept that is pretty much well understood around the league...just not recognized by SCThrash.
There was a stat on the ESPN ticker today that said Joe Sakic's 18 career all-star game points is more than the entire eastern conference roster.
Given the lack of d at these things and the quality of players in the East I'd say that won't stay on the ticker for much past second period. It'd be amazing to see him carry that through the next year or two but he's going to have to step it up even another notch (if that's possible) to do so.
Man was I wrong with that one. Mia Culpa, Mia Culpa, Mia Culpa!!!!! Joe did indeed step it up a couple of notches. God, who knew he read my posts and would be so pissed off over them to go out and make it a point to ridicule me. Good for him!

And this is what hockey has fallen to in the US -- Chuck Norris gets an in-game interview about his World Combat League (airing on Versus). Yes, the World Combat League.
Also, railcam has to go. I can't imagine someone who has never watched hockey before trying to watch for the first time tonight. The only camera angles you need are the standard broadcast position on the red line, the two cameras behind the nets attached to the glass, the cameras high above the nets to review questionable goals, and the cameras in the nets. All should be in HD. The rest are not worth it.
