Depends on his salary. What is his salary for the year? If it is reasonable, it may give Atlanta more flexibility with trade options at the deadline.

With both McCarthy and Sutton due to come back relatively soon I'm not sure if the Thrashers would bother. The team has too many defensemen. Who would get sent down to make room for Kaspar? I wouldn't do this unless there is already a trade in place to move a defenseman for a center.

He's earning $3,268,000 for the whole season this year.

I hope not. The Thrashers already have 1 too many d-men that are willing to get out of position to make a hit. He isn't the fleetest of foot either. The New NHL hasn't been kind to him.

Ding Ding Ding

With Vish and XLB, the team has enough hard hitters. He is no PPQB or offensive D specialist. No real need for him on this roster.

As a Devils fan well aware of our race against Atlanta in the standings, I must say I have enough love for the Thrashers to NOT want to see this happen.

Kaspar may not actually be on his last legs yet, but he would not fit in with the Thrashers, especially in terms of mobility.

If Atlanta were trap happy, then yes, but that's not the case. It just wouldn't be worth it to take on that salary for someone who at best would be a bottom pairing on this team.

Although, I'd love to see you claim him just to stick the NYR with half of his salary.

Kasperitus isnt right for this team, but we need to make a move soon, I'd like to see Visnovsky in Atlanta, imagine the hell that commentators would have to live with when announcing Thrashers games.

"Visnevski, passes over to Visnovsky, back to Vishnevski..."

Yeah...

Word. Besides we've already got the reputation for being cheap/dirty

No nee to add a D-man whos willing to get out of position to take a penalty as well.

washed up and too expensive. Sounds perfect for the Rangers. I have no idea why they'd waive him
