I think the majority of posters here have explained quite thoroughly why Corvo to the Oilers is a bad idea. He`s most likely reached his potential (being 30), is shoddy in his own zone, and makes too much cash. Ppl say hes like a bigger MAB, but the think about Bergie is there`s still time for him to turn his defensive game around, and he`s a hell of alot cheaper.

The one thing that really gets me about Corvo and just reinforces a big NO, is his utter lack of confidence. What NHL player actually bashes himself openly in front of the media? Do we need another defenceman on this team with no confidence? It`s pretty obvious Smith`s confidence has been low all year, and MAB hasn`t had that swagger this year either. Smid and Greene have had thier moments with thier confidence too (which is expected considering the position they`ve been forced into and thier inexperience.) Why in god`s name would we add another D man who has no confidence or savvy in his own zone?
