comrie prediction thread (part deux)

a while back, we had a thread where we all guessed Mike's final destination. Since something may be happening over the next week, maybe it is time for a new thread.

My guess - chicago. I had previously thought Toronto but they went on a 7 game winning streak. My preminition was comrie + smith for nik and coiliocovo. My fantasy is Dipietro out of the island but surely millbury is not that daft.

NYI baby....Peca's coming to the 'Chuck.!! **Slap** thanks...I needed that.

Mighty Ducks. Return is a combination of Lupul/Perry/Chistov/Vishnevsky/Popovic and pick(s)

Anaheim.

Comrie and either Horcoff or Laraque

for

one of Perry/Chistov, Vishnevski and a pick.

The Anaheim rumours seem to be gaining steam, so I'm going with the Ducks. And since the dailies are now giving Edmonton the skinny on Perry, I wouldn't be surprised if he's the one the Oil get in return, along with a draft pick.

I would love for it to be Chistov coming back though, Lupol seems like an untouchable right now.

I never like to comply to conventional thought, so I'm going to go out on a limb and say a team who we never thought as a trading partner before comes through. My guess is the struggling Boston Bruins; I just KNOW they want to give us Hannu Toivonen!!

That's just my guess.

I'll stick with my first guess of ATL, and hope that somehow pays off.

Comrie and Rita for Coburn and Stefan.

Out of the blue, I'll guess Tampa Bay.

Comrie and ?

for

Lecavalier

I read somewhere that Tortorella and Lecavalier are butting heads and aren't seeing eye to eye. (wish I could find the link )

Dreaming I guess

They have always butted-heads....But my guess is Feaster fires Tortorella before he trades Lecavalier.

My guess is Phoenix.

Comrie, Laraque and pick for Mara and Taffle.

Wishful thinking but who knows.

My prediction is the Islanders. I think this for a couple of reasons.

1) If Lowe was to trade Comrie to Anahiem he would have done so already. Lowe has also stated that he would rather deal Comrie to an Eastern team.

2) Milbury seems eager to make a move. The Oilers and the Islanders have been long time trading partners.

If all reports are true, and we do end up getting Corey Perry and a 1st for Comrie, I will be supremely disappointed. I honestly would prefer to let the guy sit if need be, rather than take the best offer on the table (if that Anaheim deal happens to be the best offer). I'll predict Lowe does an off the wall deal with Carolina for Vasicek and a pick.

I think we have to say that the Anaheim rumors are just to strong to deny especially with murray going on sportnet saying he would like to amke the deal.

The question is the return.

The oil want Lupal+ the ducks want Perry and a 1st.

My thought would be Chistov and Vishnevski for Comrie and Laraque.

I have never been able to predict Lowe's transactions. Brewer was a surprise, York was a surprise, Dvorak and Isbister were absolute shockers.

That's why I totally disbelieve that Anaheim is a trade partner.

Instead I present two off-the-wall possibilities:

NYI:
Comrie (1+3)
Chimera (0.5)
Laraques (1.2)
Ferguson (0.5)
NET = 3.2 + 3

EDM:
Niiniimaa (2.9) 28 yo D
Justin Mapletoft (0.85) 22 yo C from Lloydminster
Trent Hunter (0.45) 23 yo RW from Red Deer
NET = 4.2

If you include Comrie's bonuses, then we save $2 million... probably the 2 million that went right to Adam Oates. EDM net two prospects with NHL experience in Mapletoft and Hunter. Both have offensive upsides and not bad size. Niiniimaa immediately improves our top 4 defense. NYI gets Chimera to improve their weak left side and Laraques to provide some immediate physical presence in any playoff battle against Ottawa or Toronto. But this trade only makes sense if it is set up as a following trade where Peca gets sent away from NYI.

SECOND Surprise!

NYR:
Comrie
Rita

EDM:
Dominic Moore 23 yo Centre, compared to a Larger sized York
Fedor Tyutin 20 yo D.

NYR's Sather finally realizes that with Lundmark injured with a bad knee, Messier out with a bruised thigh... he only has Lindros and Holik and he slaps himself upside the forehead. He seeks to reunite Lundmark with Comrie and wants to give Rita (his draft) a chance on LW. A new young fresh kid line to hopefully provide some energy to his veteran squad.

In return EDM gets a Moore, a player often compared to Mike York. He plays in Toronto (AHL) for this year and is seen as the successor a centre position behind York after Oates is gone. Tyutin is brought over to provide a true possible top end talent to help with the anemic defense.

Go big or go home:

to Anaheim: Comrie, Laraque, Rita

to Edmonton: Vishnevski, Bryzgalov, Getzlaf, 2nd round pick

Comrie = Getzlaf, 2nd rounder
Rita = Vishnevski
Laraque = Bryzgalov

We only give up 1 guy actually playing for us and address our depth issues at defense, goal and center.

What these predictions really are is everyone saying what they secretly want, so here's what I want/predict:

Lowe is competitive SOB, and what it comes down to is this: does he want the Oil to win more games right now, or win this showdown? Tough call. I think he'll let Comrie swing in the breeze for a long, long time, so my prediction is this-Comrie to the basement with his Playstation while Lowe considers his options "in the fullness of time."

30 to 1 odds. Comrie to Washington for Sutherby and Oullette (sp) as soon as Washington manages to unload Jagr to NY.

It is a longshot, but I'm starting to think that Mike Peca could be a possibility. Ever since he took a run at Lindros, I've been expecting the unexpected from KLo.

I think that there would definitely have to be another contract involved.

Perhaps

Comrie + Laraque

for

Peca

???

We would be adding about 3 million this year, plus 11 over the next two, which might end up being too much, but hey, maybe KLo has something up his sleeve.

Oates
Peca
Reasoner
Stoll
Horcoff

?????????

I think Anaheim is where Comrie will end up.

it'll be Comrie + something (maybe Jani Rita) for Lupul, Perry & 1st rd 2004 pick

To LA: Comrie, Horcoff
To EDM: Frolov, Kuznetsov

To Ott: Brewer, Laraque, 3rd
To Edm: Spezza, Rachunek, Neil

I think Murray could get a lot of mileage out of Horcoff and Comrie, while we get a one touch scorer, and another giant D-man. Ottawa needs a shakeup, as do we. These are just predictions, don't kill me.

Mike Comrie, Georges Laraque and Scott Ferguson to the Washington Capitals for Jeff Halpern, Nolan Yonkman, and a 1st or 2nd round pick.
