Forsberg is making 6 million.

My offer would be Forsberg for a 1st draft pick or Kost and a 2nd. But if this year draft is poor, I would do it with Kost and a first. If the scouts do a good job they can find quality players in 2nd and 3rd round. After all, a lot of NHL superstars weren't drafted in 1st round.

Kinda of unrelated, but isnt Forsberg's doctor in Montreal... would be a hell of a practical reason to waive your no trade clause...

True, but he may want to come to Montreal because of our medical staff's track record.

Someone like Ryder or Samsonov IMO.
I wouldn't do a Ryder + 1st for Forsberg. Ryder is probably not someone the Flyers need either, they are probably looking to add speed up front, a young D or a goalie.

He's seen doctors all around North America. "His" doctors are in Sweden, which is where he is right now.

No, I just thought you'd like to know. He left for Sweden after the Flyers' last game to see if his doctors in Sweden can find a solution for his slipping skate boot.

well im not sold on him and his bag of injuries, but i would offer

samsanov+1st+Halak

forsburg+2nd

i dont want to trade kostitsyn just yet and it does not make sense for us to give up to much just for him as a UFA and besides are we talking rental or wht, because how the hell you want to sign hom for next year and keep souray and markov still

I'd love to get Forsberg, but I'm very afraid of giving up Perezhogin or Kostitsyn. I know you have to give to get, but I just don't think it's worth it. If we have to give up a good player in addition to a draft pick, at least make it someone who's contract isn't so cheap. I wouldn't mind trading Ryder to open up a spot for Kostitsyn on a scoring line.

As stated before all this gives the Flyers is Halak (who I would certainly value in any potential trade with the Habs), a move up of about 5-10 draft spots, and Samsonov, who has nothing but negative value to the Flyers. If the rumors of 10+ teams inquiring about Forsberg are true, this offer should be easily beaten.

Take out the 2nd from the Flyers and it looks much better.

Ok, some quick calculations of Forsberg's salary for the rest of the year :

Philadelphia has played 47 games which is 0.57 of the year.
Forsberg's annual salary is 5.75M$
Forsberg's salary for the beginning of the year is : 3.28M$
Forsberg's salary for the rest of the year is : 2.47M$

So, if we follow this rumour, the mid level roster player has to have a salary of 1.47M$ and higher for the rest of the year so a annual salary of 3.42M$ or higher (1.95M$ + 1.47M$).

An available mid roster player with a salary of 3.42M$ or higher has to be Sergei Samsonov.

Spectors now talk about Forsberg in talk with AV . They didn't mention that the sources ( 990 ) talked about a done deal , but that the Habs are one of the frontrunners teams

Apparently, we would have to unload a mid-level prospect and a 1st rounder.

Kostitsyn+1st rounder for Forsberg!

Oh baby, I'm getting excited!

PLEASE BOB!!
Who named Kostitsyn ? Fact is when the deal's announced. Has something concrete happened since this morning ?

Right ! Just one of the frontrunners. Far from being done. Just fun speculating what we could offer them. But we are no Gainey.

A 2nd isn't going to come back from the flyers. You are talking about moving up in the draft about 5 picks from our 2nd to your first. That's a pointless swap.

If this deal goes down for a player like ryder or samsonov, holmgren should be shot dead. We need a top prospect up front or a steady d-man.
