Twas the night before Comrie deal...

Twas the night before Comrie deal and all through the ‘Chuck
The fans were all thinking could “He” be a Duck?

Lowe burned up the phone lines, dealing with flair,
With hopes that a top 4 blueliner soon would be there.

The fans were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Lecavalier danced in their heads.

With trade winds blowing of Perry and a pick,
They figured “Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.”

But maybe the Pond would not be the spot,
But another suitor would take Lowe’s little snot,

With Mad Mike on the hotseat, Wang breathing fire,
The Isles in a deep and desparate quagmire.

Peca, the whispers, could be on the block,
But at $4 million plus that would be a shock,

The Kings with many injuries were in the mix
But found salary dump Straka could be the fix,

Philly talked Handzus? Said the Ed-Sun,
Brownlee must drink heavily thought everyone,

Thrashers are interested consensus said,
But with Savard back, the rumour seems dead.

Blueliner Coburn could sweeten that pot,
But likely Waddell couldn’t move a prospect so hot.

In Sharkland there’s interest Wilson has agreed,
Come Stuart, Come Marleau, Lowe would concede,

What about New Jersey with Gomez the due,
But totally denied by the shrewd GM Lou,

John Short says Comrie could sit for a year,
With comments like that sure will bring fear,

What about the Rangers, call old buddy Slats,
He must be senile, with so many fat cats,

But with only three good prospects on the whole club,
Sather is likely to give Lowe the snub.

Florida is out there, but what is the price?
Not getting Jay-bo but it sure would be nice.

With all of the suitors, Comire will go,
Hopefully it will be before the next Edmonton snow,

But with one thought, I leave you with this,
And in Oiler fan thoughts it is surely can’t miss,

We call up the Penguins and this would be sick,
We pick up Ovechkin, with their first pick.

LOVE the writing!!

I kinda doubt the Pens are giving up their top pick though.

If I was the host of the Jim Rome Show, that's the Big Fat Email of the Day right there.

We need more humour around here, even if it's of the gallows type.

Twe'll hope this is just not so,
Otherwise MC's nose will glow!

Seasonably refreshing with a bite to warm the grizzled soul. Good job slats432!!!
