Here's hoping it's different scouts than the ones that thought drafting Jesse Niinimaki was a great idea.

It was a great idea.

It just wasn't a great result.

You sound like Remington (Michael Douglas) from The Ghost and the Darkness:

"Did it work?"

"No, in point of fact it didn't...but it was still a good idea."

I'll take that as an endorsement to go to Hollywood and write dialogue for blockbuster movies.

Samuel Jackson's character: "You're being followed."

Will Smith's character: "By who?"

Samuel Jackson's character: "MFCP."

I'd rather target Daigle or Wickenheiser, personally.

C'mon guys - there's no reason to rebuild this team, especially when considering the biggest problem with this team has been the rookies. Rebuilding is NEVER a sure thing... just ask the Blackhawks, Flames (who would STILL be a basement team if not for two of the luckiest breaks in history in Iginla (they wanted Harvey) and Kiprusoff) and Coyotes.

I can't believe anybody would say they would rather have MAB over Greene. Geesus. Greene is our only dman that hits consistently and has potential to be a top 3 guy. I like Smid too, but not a physical force like Greene will be. But MAB? Like I have always maintained, should not be in the NHL.

My favorite example of rebuilding gone wrong is the "Baby Bulls" of the NBA. Chicago traded away a very young 20-10 player in Elton Brand for sure-thing Eddie Curry. They envisioned a front-court of Chandler-Curry being the most dominant in the NBA for the next decade plus. All I have to say is "oops"...

The Oilers are one of the bloody youngest teams in the league, any thoughts of blowing this team up are extremely silly. Hell, I wouldn't be shocked if a number of teams picking in the bottom half of the first round this year end up with better players than those teams picking in the top half.
