Me and some guy are doing a bet for the trade deadline. Here are the rules. we have to have ten trade wrote down by sunday. throw 20 bucks into the pot and the guy with the most trade after the deadline takes to pot if you only get part of the trade right it still counts. So give me some help lets here your trades remembering that there money on the lines so saying things stupid trades won't help.
To Dallas: Bill Guerin
To St. Louis: 2nd round pick and Niklas Hagman
Reason: Dallas gets scoring help from a familiar face, St.Louis begins to rebuild
To Vancouver: Keith Tkachuck
To St. Louis: Corey Schnider and a 4th round pick
Reason: Vancouver get someone simular to Big Bert to help Naslund, St.Louis continues to rebuild
To Pittsburgh: Gary Roberts
To Florida: Ronald Petrovicky and a 3rd round pick
Reason: Pens get playoff warrior they desperatly lack, Cats get a useful 3rd/4th liner and a pick for a guy that will walk anyways.
(Although this will probably come before deadline day if it was to happen)
To Edmonton: Eric Brewer(even though we should probably rebuild)
To St. Louis: 2nd round pick and a conditional 2nd round pick in 08(if we re-sign him)
Reason: Oilers get a puck mover who's really good in his own end, they're familiar with and played his best hockey with them, the Blues continue to rebuild.
To Atlanta: Josef Stumpel and Ed Belfour
To Florida: Ondrej Pavelec and Johan Hedberg
Reason: Atlanta gets much needed playmaker down the middle and veteran insurance for Lethonen, Florida gets a much needed goaltender of the future and a guy to take the Eagle's place for the remainder of the season.
To Tampa Bay: Brad Stuart
To Boston: Paul Ranger and a 1st round pick
Reason: Tampa doesn't have the smartest GM ever and will overpay for a guy they are DESPERATE for, Boston gets a deal they can't refuse.
To Carolina: Raffi Torres
To Edmonton: Tim Gleason
Reason: Carolina gets deeper and tougher up front which is what Rutherford is looking for, Edmonton gets a guy that is a good puckmover and solid in his own end.
To Edmonton: Mike York
To Philadelphia: 3rd round pick
Reason: Edmonton deals for a forward that they know well after they deal Torres, Philly gets something for York who's struggled this season.
To Buffalo: Alexei Zhitnik
To Philadelphia: Dimitri Kalinin
Reason: Buffalo gets a guy they know well and ships off a guy they're souring on, Philly gets a younger/cheaper d-man for an aging more expensive one.
To Vancouver: 4th round pick
To Dallas: Jan Bulis
Reason: Vancouver gets rid of the cancer that is JB, Dallas has been known to not worry about cancer's in the past(see Riberio, Lindros)and helps there offense out a bit more.
To San Jose: Bryan McCabe
To Toronto: Josh Georges and Steve Bernier
Reason: My surprise blockbuster! San Jose gets a number 1 d-man they need(at least to them he's a number 1)and he's got lots of playoff experience. Toronto gets McCabe's salary off the books to help them re-sign Tucker and Sundin. The only problem with this I don't know if McCabe's 5.75 mil can fit for the Sharks, so maybe something that could help both teams out is adding Nabokov and Raycroft to each side of this deal?
To San Jose: Owen Nolan
To Phoenix: 3rd round pick
Reason: Nolan goes home for a serious run at the Cup and the Sharks need more grit and experience, the Yotes get a 3rd round pick but more then anything do Nolan a favour.
To Nashville: Adrian Aucoin and a 2nd round pick
To Chicago: 6th round pick
Reason: The Preds need experience on the backend and have enough cap room to take on Aucoin and get turned on more so because the pick will be a high one, and with Chicago just looking to get Aucoin's salary off the books it's a fit.
To Calgary: Craig Conroy
To LA: 2nd round pick
Reason: It's now happend, although the 2nd was in 08, add in Lundmark and a 4th this year....but basically I called it....too bad so did 80% of the rest of us!
To Toronto: Brent Sopel
To LA: 2nd round pick
Reason: After dealing McCabe they need a replacement. Sopel is basically a poor man's McCabe, so he qualifies. LA is rebuilding.
To NY Rangers: Shane Doan
To Phoenix: Petr Prucha and 1st round pick
Reason: Steep price to pay for a guy that most of us love but most of us would probably admit is overrated. Doan's never put up the numbers that he maybe should have, but he gives the Rangers a ton of grit which is what they were missing last year in the playoffs. The Rangers in the end give the Yotes what they would want for Doan. Also a good fit because of the Edmonton connection(Gretzky-Sather).
To Anaheim: Peter Forsberg(that's correct!) and Robert Esche
To Philadelphia: Ilya Bryzgalov, Chris Kunitz, Samuel Paulhson, and a 2nd round pick
Reason: Burke's been rumoured to be very interested in Forsberg and Sundin to bolster the centre spot on his team. Forsberg supposedly is going to re-sign in Philly in the offseason, so it could end up being all that for just Esche which will push the Flyers more so to do the deal. A healthy Forsberg would most likely give the Ducks the Cup and give us another 1st round pick.
To Montreal: Yanic Perreault
To Phoenix: Sergei Samsonov
Reason: Just makes sense to me. Sammy's contract isn't that bad, and just seems to be a horrible fit in Montreal. I couldn't figure out why the Habs signed Sammy in the first place. The Habs get help down the middle and Sammy could regain his touch in the desert and be a great replacement for Nagy as the top LW who most think will walk after the season.

Reason: Didn't know about Kesler's injury
