When it happens then I'll agree with you. I'm sure there were a few optimists that thought the Lightning got some bluechippers in Steve Kelly and Jason Bonsignore for Roman Hamrlik.

Two second rounders, not to mention you're disregarding that this was a 3 way deal. No one ever gets it right.

Not that I wouldn't rather have Lupul or Pitkanen, but most Bolts fans dislike the Aucoin trade the most.

I thought the Lukowich deal was a couple of days later.

Dallas backed out of announcing the trade at the previously agreed-upon time, so the flip of one of the 2nd rounders to Dallas (for Lukowich and a 2003 7th) was announced the next day.

(The 2nd round pick involved shows up as Tampa's pick, but it had been previously traded to Philly)

Ah. Well, that would be a darn good reason why people always get it wrong.

Surprisingly this was not a Milbury trade...back in 95...

To Montreal: Pierre Turgeon and Vladimir Malakhov
To Islanders: Kirk Muller, Mathieu Schneider, and Craig Darby

Muller went on not even wanting to play for the Isles and ended up being traded the next season...Schneider left middle of that season as well, and Darby, well...he never accomplished much....one of Don Maloney's biggest blunders ever and one I will never forget as being so STOOPID

Yeah, I don't get that either. I know if I saw Jay Feaster, all I would say is "thank you."

Although I agree with the fact that the Oates trade was worse,
you're basicly saying that the Lindros deal wouldn't have been bad if it weren't for the injuries?
Can you even imagine the forward depth on the Flyers if Forsberg and Ricci were still there?

they are the ULTIMATE 1st and 3rd line centers

Ofcourse, it's an IF situations...
lol, who knows, forsberg might've been in Sweden by know

Sure. Joni Pitkanen leads all rookie defensemen in points, tied for third in points among all rookies, tied for first in +/-, and is first in PP points.

You asked.

Forsberg might still be here, but Ricci would have been long gone.

Eh, pretty easy to do for the Canucks.

To VAN: Barry Pederson
To BOS: 1st round pick, Cam Neely

As for best, take your pick:
To PIT: Alek Stojanov
To VAN: Markus Naslund

and

To NYR: Trevor Linden
To VAN: Todd Bertuzzi, Bryan McCabe (->Henrik Sedin), 3rd round pick (Jarkko Ruutu)

You know your franchise hasn't been around long enough when *this* is your worst trade. Anyways, wasn't it Karalahti and a pick?

Zing!

Not that it's relevant, but it was reported that Tampa would have taken Lupul (who I also quite like).

Explain this one. They traded Ronning's rights as he was set to become ufa.

This was the last time the habs ripped off a team. this trade was undone when Houle teraded Turgeon AND Conroy to the Blues for Corson and Baron.
