Rangers Wings proposal

Rangers need a centre for the 2ed line. So here is what I propose.

Rangers get Robert Lang and Tomas Kopecky.

Wings get Rachunek, Hall, Dawes

Rangers get a 2ed line centre who played with Straka and Jagr on the Pens. Rangers would get an upgrade on the bottom lines. The Wings would get a vet dman and a big forward who can use change and a solid prospect.

Pass. Dawes for a 37 year old?

call me crazy but I would give up Immonen and Hall for Lang.

Don't see much room for him within the team. I definetly see him as trade bait at the deadline.

No.They shouldn't give up Dawes unless it's for a big upgrade that's not 30+ years old.

Why are people suggesting we should be trading for 37 year olds??? There's got to be a 27 year old second line center we can go after...and if it's the right fit I'll have no problem dealing our young guys for him.

I also see Sather or Maloney parting ways with Jarrko during this Trade Deadline. Its def going to be for a rental also.

ya know...lets just bring back OZO. No trades.

The last thing we need is another 35+ year old on this team, I don't want to see those days anymore even though Renney would most likely like to. No deal.

if we aren't calling someone up from HFD, a 'this season only' UFA to be center, regardless of age, is ideal. Take out Kopecky and Dawes.

C'mon Nich, some of us enjoy debating the proposals.

As for the proposal, I agree wit n8. Drop Dawes and Kopecky, and I like the deal, especially as a rental. If Nylander asks for too much in the summer, why not re-sign Lang to a one year contract and have him on the JJ line?

Despite playing together for a bit, Lang and Jagr weren't really that good together in Washington.

I think Lang played with Shanahan in Detroit.
Dawes I would not give up. Immonen I would right now.

Rachunek, Immonen and 4th round draft pick.

Straka Nylander Jagr
Shanahan Lang Hall
Prucha Cullen Ortmeyer
Hollweg Betts Ward

or

Rachunek, Immonen and Hall for Lang

Straka Nylander Jagr
Shanahan Lang Prucha
Hollweg Cullen Ortmeyer
Hossa Betts Ward

How is Sather supposed to sell a soon to be 25 year old Immonen whom the Rangers deem inferior to Blair Betts as a second line NHL center? Or Jason Krog as a 4th line center.

Well, they cannot get a young star player with Rachunek and Hall without risk.
Immonen can easily make Detroit's second or third line center. Immonen could be ready to eventually center at least the third line next year.
However, He will not beat out any of the Rangers veteran centers next year.

If Immonen can easily be Detroit's 2nd or 3rd line center, then why is he not our 2nd line center?

Man am I getting tired of all these proposals, not just from AHall18nyr. I mean it's like people actually think that Sather and Maloney surf these boards and try to get ideas.

I know it's in vogue to bash Ort's proposals, but this one really isn't that bad for us. Kopecky is a solid young player and Lang would be a great addition for the team.

I don't know why you guys are ragging on him for this one. It's FAR from his worst and really isn't that bad.
