Isn't Elisha from Alberta? At least we know Avery wouldn't bolt...

Oh well!
we are at what 39 million?

half the season is gone... we could add three rob blakes and still squeeze under the cap.

i think blake was on the ice for 90% of the bad goals against his last year for COL and he does not look much better in LA.

i would not pay that $$ for him. and i certainly would not trade talent for him.

thats just my opinion.

If a Blake meant we'd make a cup run, I'd do it.

Blake would improve the team no doubt but we'd need more than him to have a shot at duplicating what we did last year.

I would rather take Norstrom than Blake at this point. I watched him against Calgary and Edmonton a few times this year and the guy is a monster back there. He is hard on the puck, big, physical and strong in his own end. I think he would be a great addition to the oilers.

To EDM: Rob Blake (6) + Sean Avery (1.1) = 7.1

I would hate it, but the salaries could work.
I'm Lowe's biggest supporter, I have lowe signed stuff all over my office. But I would personally start a revolt to get him out of edmonton if he made that trade.

lol. Like I said, it was just an example of how to make the salaries work.

Although I will note I think it would take that type of package to get LA talking about Visnovsky.

Rob Blake is not very good anymore. His big shot might help out the PP but that is about it.

I will probably get ripped for saying this, but he wasn't really all that great even in his prime. The book on Blake every playoffs was to dump the puck in his corner and get in fast. He was a turnover machine that was able to hide that part of his game with a few big hits and lots of PP points.

LA is building up quite a collection of talented youth, and they might be willing to move Blake if he is willing, but I sure wouldn't give up any big assets for a declining player with a huge contract.

I think there are about 6,000,000 reasons why this doesn't make sense.

Seriously, there is no way in hell Blake will end up in Edmonton.
You didn't read my whole comment. I said that "Enough said" never applied, not the part about it being a unlikely trade. I agree totally that it would be a stupid move, and Lowe is not a stupid GM. If he struggles to pay Ryan Smyth that kind of money when he is

You can never stop the rumour talk on this board, no matter how many times you cry "ENOUGH". We like to dissect every possible move to the sub-atomic level, so saying "Enough said" around here is a pointless as the trade rumour.

Sounds like a certain caveman playing a couple hundred clicks south of here..

*IF* he was a UFA at the end of the season, I'd think it was possible.

But for a guy who we'd have to pay $6,000,000 NEXT season? No way in hell.

Ekland is a joke

it is all a lie that he thought up while he smoking some crack

he is never right

he tosses "crap" at the wall hoping something sticks

LA is not going trade Blake to the oilers

he loves LA and he has a bog money contract that I don't see the oilers wanting to add

I think it would be worth the gamble. He would give us the presence on the blue line that the team and the fans have been asking for the entire season. Of course it depends on who is going the other way, but if it is reasonable, then it would mean that the team could focus less on "what if" and more on their play where the real problem really is.

If Eklund keeps things up with "defenseman X to Edmonton for ____", they're bound to get it right one of these days...
