Then wouldn't his presence prevent someone from playing either this year or next year?

There is ZERO danger of Kaspar blocking ANYONE who should be playing in HFD! They'd tell Dale to clean out his locker if need be. No one is imminently ready to jump to the Pack.

Girardi is NOT the answer to the Rangers defensive problems. All he showed was that he was up to the challenge in 1 game. Personally, I don't think the guy is anything more than a serviceable 3rd pairing defenseman. If you're pinning your hopes on the guy to be something special, or really solid, you're going to be dissapointed.

First off, Kasper is not blocking either girardi or pock, for their on the big club and he's in Hartford... Second his contract is up next year, and there are plenty of guys i get rid of before him... Like Purington, and Liffiton maybe even taylor..... So he is not blocking anyone or hurting their progress, who are you going to call up from Charlotte thats taking Kasper's place in Hartford??? Malik may be getting more ice time then he deserves, but he was very stable last year, and has gotten alot more consistent recently..... Third Girardi has only played in one game in the NHL, u should wait and see him in a few more games before u make an assessment...

Whats up with the get rid of Liffiton posts? the kid is still young and developing, yet a few of you seem to be very down on him. Any particular reason?

Yikes!!!
I never really liked him, but you're way too brutal here, IMO. How come Jagr gets free ride on his form and Kaspar doesn't? The guy comes back after numerous surgeries. He may be back 100% next year. We are not gonna get stay-at-home guy from the youth any time soon. So he is not only blocking anyone in Hartford, but may be back on Broadway next season. If Rangers are smart, he is not going back through wavers. He stays in Hartford till next training camp.

IDK, he was a second round pick that everyone thought was going to be a bruising defensemen... He has a below average game in nearly every category except for toughness.... He does not have a good shot, isn't a very good puck handler, lacks speed, and even though he will drop the gloves often, he is not very good at that either..... Frankly he will be in the AHL for life... Which is far better then where most be get, but it doesn't look like he will have a future with any team in the NHL....
