Why does Craig Simpson have a job?

PLEASE! Somebody explain why this chump has a job with the Edmonton Oilers?

Maybe things are different in the Oilers "Buddy Organization", but in the real world, you get canned for not producing.

Why does this hair sprayed chump have a job still? Is he buddies with Mac T? i can't figure it out? How can this guy have a job with this NHL franchise when our #'s are this pathetic and the guys don't move on the PP over and over again?

I'm sick of this garbage. This team will never climb over the hump. These guys all hire their BUM BUDDIES, even without qualifications.

THIS IS WHY THIS FRANCHISE WILL REMAIN MEDIOCRE

Look at my post count. I think Craig S is a great individual.

BUT WHAT IS THIS GUY DOING HERE? SOME APOLOGIST TELL ME?

I guess I'm brain dead, I have NO CLUE!

What does he get paid for?

It's the way the world works. My family has a successfull and profitable business. He is favoured. His buddies are in the organization.

It's pretty pathetic.

I know a bunch of people will question my "Loyalty" to the beloved Oilers.

I am a die hard fan, but I'll admit, this team stinks

Maybe add something to the thread instead of worrying about my post comment?

I'm so frustrated.

Somebody please. I dare you to defend Craig Simpson.

Why does this human being have a job with the Edmonton Oilers?

Because he has nice hair...
He looks pretty hot in a suit...
He has the same name as coach MacT...
His nickname is also pretty cool...
Check out my post count...

So are you making fun of me?

Somebody get to the point?

Why does this guy, who is a nice individual, have a job as the Edmonton Oilers PP coach?

Please, somebody explain it.

I just see a guy who is getting a favour, that's it.

Oh yeah. Please list the Oilers PP #'s without the Chris Pronger year.

Keep those filthy copper goggles on. You might like wasting $$ on the useless guys, but I don't like it.

Hey I'm sorry if I offended you, but com,on.

I'm dead serious here. We all work hard. We all apply for jobs. We all strive for success.

Somebody tell me why this man, who was a great Oiler, has a job here?

If you don't produce at a job, you usually get a fine or you get fired.

Why is this guy stil here?

It's called the OLD BOYS CLUB.

Don't worry, you haven't offended me one bit. Infact i agree with you, i also wonder why Simpson still has a job with the oilers. If the job requirements were as i stated earlier, anyone could go in there and "coach" our powerplay. It is, what it is...like you said, The Old Boys Club...if you were a boss, and had a good friend employed and he wasn't doing his job very good...could you go out and fire him? Also, who would you get to replace Simpson?

Hey, I agree with you 100%.

I honestly don't know Rin. I'll admit that, but I'm fed up. It's not about who we should hire, but why does this guy have a job with the Edmonton Oilers?

iT REALLY IRKS ME. Somebody tell me. Why does CRAIG SIMPSON have a job with the Edmonton Oilers?

Please. Somebody tell me. Job results don't count these days?

Is it all about close knit friendships? Why does this man have a job with this NHL franchise? They don't look at his results?

If I'm wrong, I'll say it.

But please...

Why does this guy have a job with the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League?

Somebody give me some evidence or backing up. Why?

That's all I want.

Put yourself in Lowe's shoes, your friend has a job with you and he is not producing. Can you fire him? Or will you hold out some faith and keep him around? Will you feel obligated to keep him around since he is such a good friend of yours? And i'm sorry to break it to you, but the only person that can give you a real/honest answer as to why he still has a job with the oilers is Kevin Lowe himself.

Rin, that's what I'm talking about. I think Lowe can't fire his friends, even though I like him as our GM. I think Lowe is great.

It's the "Old Boys Club". I own my own business. I know it's hard to fire close people.

That's the problem with the Oilers I think.

And also, if you had a group of friends working together...can you fire just one and keep the rest? or do you get rid of them all and start over fresh?

MacT takes care of the PK if I'm correct. And for the record, I completely agree that Simpson should've been canned a longggg time ago. Watching the PP is like getting punched in the face. I mean no one moves around, we never have anyone in the high slot and it's just a huge mess. As for him still having a job, I think we all know it's the "old boys club" mentality that our team loves.

It's common knowledge on this board. He's the special teams coach. Not just the PP coach.

But where does it say that? (other than on this board) I have done some research and can't find a single thing that states his the special teams coach and not just the PP coach.

Edit - Here's an article from Matheson as well that mentions that Simmer is the special teams coach near the bootom of the first page. I really had to dig to find it, but I knew I'd read it.
