I'd like to see..

Smyth Horcoff Pisani

Lupul - Stoll - Hemsky > Perhaps if Hemmer is teamed up with a scorer and a shooter.. gooder things might happen. Why not put Lupul on the left wing.

Torres - Nedved - Sykora

Stortini - Reasoner - Thor

Stoll spent most of the playoffs with Hemsky and Samsonov and it didn't help him score..

We need a win tonight, but not only just a win, a CONVINCING win that will give us some hope for the stretch.

Oilers 5
Kings 0

Make it happen

Thats in the past and we're talking present. Nothing is working thus far, so why not try. If nothing works, the organization has to do something about it. I'm not against any kind of different line changes at this stage seeing how no line combo has any kind of chemistry what so ever.. at the moment.

Stortini Stoll Hemsky
Smyth Pisani Winchester
Torres Horcoff Reasoner
Thoresen Petersen Lupul

Stoll is the best C we have and should be playing with our best winger Hemsky. Stortini is not slow and can keep up, bang the boards and keep teams honest.

Winch Smyth and Pisani all like to cycle the puck. Will outwork teams. Winchester and Stors give us muscle on the top 2 lines.

3rd line is mix and match

4th line is the speed line.

My lines are what we should be running imo. could be wrong but i'm sure it won't be as bad as mac rolls tonight.

I think MacT has been WAY too patient with his lines this year. Last year he showed no hesitance to blow up the combos, but now, with us playing horse manure hockey every game, he's as stubborn as can be. I want to see some guys who don't normally get much offensive 5 on 5 opportunity get some time with skilled players.

Smyth Horcoff Pisani
Thoreson Reasoner Hemsky
Torres Stoll Lupul
Stortini Petersen Sykora

I think a pure energy guy with speed like Thoreson is the key to getting Hemmer back into form.

Another option is putting back together the Smyth Horcoff Hemsky line. While Smyth and Horc have been playing much better of late, we haven't had a line dominate offensively like they did last year at times. Our best line all year was the STP line, and they can only do so much offensively.

They showed MacTavish a few minutes later and he had a look on his face like he was pissed off but trying his best not to flip out.

Am I the only one who saw this? If you recorded the game, go take a look.

Anyway, please win Oilers.
Interesting... I taped the game, saw the score on the ticker and have exams Monday so I didn't think i'd get to watching that tape (don't really want to burn 2 hours watching a 5-1 thumping). I'll definitely look for that play though now that you mention it.

This is a huge game for the Oilers (they're obviously all huge now) because LA is a team that we need to beat if we have any chance of making the playoffs, it's a home game and we can't afford any losing streaks if we're to make it. Great to have Staois back and I'm predicting a big win tonight...

Edmonton 5
Los Angeles 2

Hopefully Jussi gets the start.

Yeah, I know. But it might improve my social life.
Wife wants dinner out again, with friends, then to see friends.

Friends that don't watch hockey...

Is it too much to ask for them to put in some effort and not get embaressed?

If Jussi doesn't start tonight, I will have lost all hope that the coaching staff doesn't have thier heads entirely up thier own a$$e$

Jus should be starting every 3rd game, at LEAST every 4th.

I find that there are way too many instances in which I'm questioning small decisions made by the coaches, as opposed to noticing positive things that are directly related to coaching. I can't help but wonder where we'd be right now if we had a few proven guys back there.

We should have a normal goalie rotation. Not a platooning, and not a Kipper/Luongo type thing, but something in which our starter NEVER plays back to backs, and gets a rest in obvious situations. Like if we play every other day for 3 weeks, and he gets a rest or two against clearly inferior teams at home.

Hey guys i got a question regarding Lupul. Is it fair to assume that he will become a Heatley-type player if he plays out his potential.....??

Tonight's game will tell the story of the rest of the season in my opinion. If they don't pull it together & show some effort & some heart in then I think it's all over.

Even if they lose tonight, if they at least try it will make me feel better....

I just watched it, occurred early in the 2nd period around the 16 minute mark I believe. Sykora made an extra move at the blueline putting Nedved offside. They then showed Nedved saying something (he looked pretty pissed) to the left side of the Oiler bench like you said. I couldn't make out what he was saying and I tried several times to read his lips.

I thought it was "**** you", but maybe not.

Thanks for checking it, though. Fast forward a little bit until they show MacTavish. He kinda has a pissed off smirk (if that makes any sense) on his face.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't "**** you" as I was looking specifically for that, the only shot of McTavish I saw was right after the 2nd Sharks goal... He had that pissed off smirk you described but whether that was due to the goal or whatever Nedved said is anyone's guess.
