Now send Fritiche back to Sarnia and I finally think this team is going in the right direction for this season.

I've read in various scandinavian papers that the main reason Knutsen is in Syracuse now is because of the fact that his old european team (Djurgårdens IF, Stockholm) offered him to come and play for them, the CBJ management knowing that he was very willing to come to stockholm then offered Knutsen a low buyout proposal, which he refused. So now it's a matter of how long the CBJ management can afford him to be in Syracuse or how much AHL Knutsen can take before this is settled, I guess.

The dispatch this morning said that Knutsen and CBJ were 200 grand off on their buyout numbers.

Its just business. Plain and simple.

I think it's stupid. Let's say Espen wants 500K and Doug is offering 300K. Why not pay him the money now instead of paying him the rest of the 1.5 million contract for the rest of the season?

Injury insurance.

I dont know. I didnt say I agree with it, but its business... Doug may feel that the buy out that espo wanted wasnt low enough to consider. Knutsen may have wanted 800,000 and his contract for the rest of the season might be 1,000,000...

It might make more sense to keep him around... in an injury sense...

And if he lights up the AHL we might be able to trade him...
