GDT 1/28- Flyers @ Thrashers 3:30 PM

A Sunday matinee for the kiddies.

Can the Thrashers keep the good times rolling? Hossa and Ilya led the team to victory the last time out, and I suspect that Ilya is heading into one of his hot streaks.

2008 All Star Game logo to be revealed by Gary Bettman, and the game will be on locally on NBC.

I thiiink it's on here, I'm hoping anyway.

Is it just local NBC, or nationally?

It's being shown locally (Atlanta and Philly) and regionally (Georgia, Pennsylvania, and southern NJ). The national game is Colorado @ Detroit.

Ah crap, Darren Pang's part of the crew today. Look for a goalie love-fest from him. I remember a couple of seasons back when ESPN was doing a Thrashers game Panger was constantly raving about Pasi Nurminen through the entire game.

This is the one thing that bugs me with Hartley. When things are going ok with the lines, like on even strength, he changes it up. Then, when things absolutely suck, like our powerplay tonight, everything is the exact same it's been all season. OBVIOUSLY, it's not working anymore - THAT is what needs to be changed.

*sigh*

Because he wants to add heat from one line to all lines... For example, when Kovy is hot he can play on a line with two cold players and still score - it's not working but that's what I think he's trying...

Another piss poor outing in front of a packed house.

When will DW make a move to help out the PP? No goals on a 5 on 3 AND a 4 minute PP? When your PP is geared towards setting up Scott Mellanby in front of the net, you will have difficulty scoring.

A very entertaining game, but when your best chances come to third rate talents like Kapanen and the mental midget Jim Slater you will not win.

with 3minutes to ago i just wanted to play it safe and go to OT just to gain a pt on Carolina but now it still stands at 6 pt lead. We can't even increase our lead.

The stupid play with 1:10 to go or so, the puck is on the right side of the blue line and a thrasher player (i think metropolit) instead of getting the puck out he goes and takes the man, puck stays inside, and then goes around the boards and they score. I was so pissed off when the guy went for the body instead of the puck i knew it meant trouble. With a minute to go why the **** do you go for the man \especially when he was backing up, Stop get the puck out of there but noo im just going to push him forward and forget about the puck espically when theres a minute to go and its 1-1. What a disappointing lost.

Powerplay sucks balls, our PK is the worst out of all the playoff teams i think which is unacceptable.

im still pissed off about that play on the blueline. If they would have gotten the puck out it would have gone to OT probably with a minute to go.

Idiots.

If our PP doesn't get fixed and soon we go no where in the playoffs. I think our PK will get better when Sutton returns. It took a nose dive after he went out.

One of the NBC announcers quoted a former coach during our 5 on 3 as saying if you can't score on a 5 on 3 you won't win the game.....what forcasting. It is unacceptable that we cannot score on either a 5 on 3 or a 4 minute PP. This is our most glaring need. Kovy needs off of the point and now. All the team does is feed it to him and no one else tries to take shots. I would like to see what our PP would look like if he was playing along the boards instead of up high.

Losing to a team the Wolves could blow out = Happy?

Not quite sure how that works.

Im sick and tired of this team losing games that we absolutely NEED TO WIN. This shouldve been a VERY east 2 points, yet we got nothing out of it.

True, but I dont ever hear any positive comments ... only just saying how bad this team sucks when we lose. Try and say something like even though we lost _________ had a solid game. There is always a positive to take away from every game. To be totally honest, we are still at the top of our division over 50 games into the season, I think that surpasses all of our expectations for this year.

Just got back from the game, don't even know what to say. Really disappointed in our effort, esspecially on the PP (anyone remember the last time we scored on a 5 on 3?). Too exhausted to rant too much though, pretty pathetic effort against a sellout crowd. I talked to a guy at the Will-Call booth before the game who told me it was his first professional hockey game, (let alone Thrashers game), I replied with something like "I think you'll like it, we actually have a good team this year and their usually really fun to watch.", so much for that.

I seem to remember making a joke not too long back about not feeling comfortable with a 1 goal lead against Philly at this point ...... wow did that one come back to bite me on the ass.

Flyers have always had our number. We are responsible for 2 of their wins.
