I really dont know why the Rangers would even be looking at Conroy. He has been horrible this year. Now if their looking at Cammalleri or Visnovsky then I'm interested otherwise say NO

If you want an offensive defenseman LA has Sopel (UFA) or Tverdovsky (1 year left on contract) to offer and if you want a defensive defenseman there's Aaron Miller (UFA) and Mattias Norstrom might or might not be on the block. Garrioch said last week he had a no-trade clause which most Kings fans don't remember ever being reported before.

Anyhow here's an article on Visnovsky's situation.

Thanks for the link.

It's great to read that Marc really loves the way he's playing his game, and that Lubo would like to stay.

It's just that with all this trade buzz going around, I'd gotten myself prepared for some crazy deals to go down. But trading Lubo would be absolutely asinine, considering the fact that he loves it here, and that he's easily top ten in the league. The kings would have to be the clear winners in a trade involving him.

Still, the fact that Kings Mgt. has gone on to state in a few separate occasions that they're resolutely keeping onto him makes me feel strangely uneasy.

Sorry to steal the thread, guys, but this trade talk is really nerve-wracking.

I don't expect Lubo to be moved. Lombardi said that he is a key part and wants to keep him.

I am glad Conroy got traded to a team not named the Rangers.

Cullen > Conroy

Conroy wouldn't have solved any of our problems, I am glad he has been traded and is no longer an option.

Hopefully we've got our eyes out for:

Smith (probably not acquirable), Avery, Greene

Anyone ever think Norstrom could head back to NY?

The Rangers are looking at Edmonton

Quote:
With the league's trade deadline 25 days away, the scouts were out in full force, including two from the Philadelphia Flyers (Joni Pitkanen?), and New York Rangers' Gilles Leger, who was also at Rexall Place on Wednesday

Leger was in Edmonton on Wednesday for the Oilers-Columbus game and then flew to Vancouver for the Oilers-Canucks

Smyth is expected to re-sign in Edmonton. They made him a long term offer last week which would keep Smyth as an Oiler

I think it is about Nedved. He is cheap, low trade value at this time. He is 2nd line C (unlikely) or 4th line C (very likely) that we are missing. He is not what he was (the best Ranger of last decade or so), but by far better that Krog any given night.

Best at what? Missing the net with the 100 weak wrist shots from the perimeter?

No, deking at the blueline to create an offsides. The guy is the best in the league at it

Lupul is great, but it doesn't solve our main problem at center.

Deadved makes a hell of a lot more money than Krog, though.

It's kind of hard to scout Nedved when he has been a healthy scratch for the last three games

Holy Crap...

Can we make a list of Centers the Rangers have been rumored to get this year?

Theres got to be over 20, easily.

Quote:
With Chicago GM Dale Tallon having followed the Rangers from Philadelphia Saturday to Boston Tuesday, older Blackhawks C Bryan Smolinski and D Jassen Cullimore are on the Rangers’ radar. Smolinski could be a fall-back if the Rangers can’t acquire a No. 2 center such as Peter Forsberg or Yanic Perreault.
http://blogs.nydailynews.com/rangers/

I hate to highjack another thread about the 137 other centers we are discussing... but anyway, i hope Dellapina is just throwing out his name because hes another center out there. I read somewhere here was offered a contract... (?) (Rangerboy, help!)

#2 center??? I wanted him 2 years ago but the guy almost didnt play this year and he is in no way shape or form a second line center option for this team. Hes a glorified Betts IMO. Great on faceoffs.

My VOTE goes to Boyes. Ill be upset if they trade anything of value just to pick up a rental.

600K is not a lot of money.
You send a scout out and guy is a healthy scratch? You tell your scout to go to the next game and see if he plays. That is why scouts were at two games. Common, we not gonna get Torres or even Peterson out there.
