Kings' Prospects in WJC?

OK, we know about Brady, and we are unsure about Dustin, but will other Kings' prospects be playing in the WJC?

Kanko?
Pushkaryev?
Karlsson?
etc...

Karlsson is overaged. I haven't heard anything on Kanko. Tambellini is still in the Canadian camp. Pushkarev will probably be there but you'll have to talk to Spongebob about it. Henrik Juntunen will probably be there for Finland.

Murray=Yes
Tambellini=Yes
Kanko=not likely
Pushkarev=probably yes
Juntunen=most definitely yes

Juntunen is 20 so he would be ineligible for the tournament.

Actually, with the injury and the Kings' needs, all we've heard and read is Brown won't play. Unless the Kings make some kind of a deal for another forward, I'd say Brown is out of the WJC's.

I think that could have changed.

1. Kings all of a sudden have a huge amount of depth. Do we have room for Brown?

2. Murray is now on the US Team. It could be nice to see a Brown - Murray line in the WJC.....

One Note on Pushkarev

Kazakhstan is not in the main tourney with Canada, USA, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Ukraine, and Switzerland.

Kazakstan is in a group with Germany, Slovenia, Latvia, Denmark, and Hungary. See http://www.iihf.com/hockey/htm2004/WS20IA2004.htm.

The main tournament schedule can be found at http://www.iihf.com/hockey/htm2004/WS202004.htm.

Yes, you are correct.It kind of sucks though because i think that Kazakhstan has a better team than Austria, Ukraine and Switzerland.Pushkarev will start for Kazakhstan next week though.His first game will be on December 14th against Latvia.

Does anyone know if the tournament will be on TV in the United States? NHL Center Ice perhaps?

Kanko is leaving tomorrow for either a tryout or a spot with the Czech team - I've heard conflicting reports.

that's basically what an article i read over the summer said. murray has the talent to play in the nhl, but is especially limited by his size.

USA Hockey today announced that University of North Dakota freshman forward Drew Stafford (Faribault, Minn.) will replace Dustin Brown (Ithaca, N.Y.) on the 2004 United States National Junior Team, which will compete at the 2004 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Junior Championship. Brown, originally named as one of 10 returners to the team in October, is unable to participate due to injury.

So did Kazakhstan play in the lower pool last year when Pushkarev put up 9 goals?
