Hopefully this opens the door to a flurry of trades. At least one can hope.

yah good point I guess. Also, whats Conroys contract Status, because $2.5 or whatever it is isn't that bad for the remaining of the year, but is he a UFA or are there more years?

NVM, answered above

Isn't he signed for next year, too? Let's see how he rebounds...

That was my first though as well. The guy is only 25 years old and LA is already going to be his fourth team.Being traded so many times at a young age decrease the value of a player a lot.

It think that it's a decent move at best for Calgary.Conroy remaining year at 2.5 on his contract may hurt them next year.We shall see i guess

The Flames acquired Conroy from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Jamie Lundmark, a fourth-round draft choice in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and a second-round draft choice in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Good trade for the Flames. I'm assuming the draft picks are a bit higher then expected because Lundmark totally sucks.

EDIT: I see they are a 2nd + 4th

Once again, Dean Lombardi pulls off a good trade. He moves salary off his roster, and gets two decent picks in return.

That's a good deal for Calgary, Lundmark doesn't really have much value, so Conroy for a couple of lower picks is pretty solid.

As do the Oilers. Lowe has waited long enough.

good trade for both teams. LA dumps salary for picks and Calgary gets a true 3rd line C to boost their terrible PK

Typical Dean-o move. Get a stopgap and picks in return for a good player. They'll re-sign Lundmark for another year and probably let him go to free agency after that. Picks, picks, and more picks on the way to L.A.

Lowe won't pull the trigger unless he gets a good deal out of it. Plus there will be tons of overpaid bums at the trade deadline (if we don't completly tank before that)

An overpayment for a guy thats over the hill and signed for another year for too much money. A second alone should have been enough and, as previously mentioned, Comrie would have been a much better and cheaper option.

A good move from the Kings' point of view, though. A few picks and they dump salary.

Cal Puck is lit up like a Christmas tree right now, but the initial reaction is that this move was to beef up the PK. How's Conroy been on faceoffs lately?

Good move by Calgary. Assuming the picks aren't substantial in any way, they get a player that may be underperforming right now, but, is probably more than likely to be able to turn it around in Calgary than anywhere else.

The only downside is, it takes them out of the Forsberg sweepstakes, but, in reality, that may have proved too costly, and waiting until after Forsberg is dealt will only increase the price of a guy like Conroy.

Lundmark is dead weight, and is being moved for the sake of moving someone else off the roster.

Good move to strik early. They don't get the best guy on the market, but, they get an affordable guy that fits their needs, and they get him early enough that he can help them during the stretch drive.

EDIT: With a 4th and a 2nd, it's a more substantial package than I originally thought. Still, not a bad price for a guy that possesses the ability to be a difference maker.

Except Comrie would not fit the mold of someone that Darryl Sutter would go after. He goes after the hard-nosed players and that's something I've never heard someone accuse Mike Comrie of being.

Some Kings fans kept pointing to Doug Weight and how they were also entitled to a first round pick for Conroy. And if a team wanted Conroy, then that was the price.Take it or leave it.Guess not
