Is the real boyes the one from last year or this year? I mean he was run out of 2 other organizations with seeing anytime in the Nhl.Then suddenly he arrives on the scene last year and plays 1st line mins with bergie and Sturm and he excells! but then this year he seems lost and slow and disintrested. So which one is the real Boyes?
Roger Towne, who writes regarding Boyes, " I tend to doubt this (trading Boyes) though simply because outside Patrice Bergeron and Phil Kessel, the B's don't have any solid young A-list forwards on the roster (or in Providence). " Not to mention it would be incredibly stupid. Sure, Boyes is struggling this season, but he's only in his second season and posted over 60 points last season. The kid has potential and you just don't throw that away because of a sophomore slump.
I think we should keep Boyes. The guy has talent & is relatively cheap. Can we have some stability on this team instead of trading everybody every season. Lets try changing the coach prior to changing any players, coach's salary doesn't count under the cap.
Here's a question How many times do you think Sabres fans called for Ruff to be fired burned opr tarred? Oh but wait the sabres showed patience and now he's considered one of the top coaches. I think Lets try a coach out for a full season without firing him.
I always wondered if last year's "transition" period is giving many people false impressions of some players?
Let's remember the Dmen last year where in a sort of funk when it came to trying to figure out how to cover, hit, or defuse any kind of odd man rush or speed players.
This year the Dmen are more embolden, and I think that reflects on Boyes' ability. There are probably some other rookies around the league who gave false impressions of what they were capable of last year. Some have adjusted, some have not. I think Boyes falls into the latter category. And he's playing in a complete funk. Between those two things his play has deteriorated to the point where people are really on his ass.
As frustrated as I am with this team, and as much as it would feel good to ride the Boyes is bum band wagon, I refrain from doing so, because he's a kid.
Why he's not with the Baby B's, has limited ice time, or has gotten out of this mire he's in for a few nights is beyond me. You'd have to ask the coach that.
