And up the standings we go!

Oh, and I loved Ricks comment about how it looked familiar with Grahame owing Carolina. That was good.
I wasn't really paying attention to Rick.. are we the SE division leaders now? I know he said that we're ahead in the conference.. but I dunno.

Actually the third star should go to the special teams. 5 for 5 and 2 for 2 is beyond outstanding. This is becoming a very good special teams team. Good job. That is something that can carry a team far in the playoffs (as we all know). The goaltending and special teams have been very sharp.

There is quite a bit to be happy about right now my friends.

Now they just have to play better at home.

This night has just rocked. First, we shut out the Canes. Now, the Flyers choke at home and give up the GTG with 20 seconds left, and lose in the OT.

Just watched the game on my DVR. Huge, huge, huge win especially in regulation. Homer was outstanding tonight, congrats to him for his first shutout. Kept the team in the game and then we saw our buddy Johnny again. It was refreshing to be on the other end of him blowing a game when his team is dominating. Agreed with CSF, special teams would have gotten a star from me tonight. Those kills in the first period were big. I loved Janik's goal, a great read by him to jump in to the slot and rocket one by Grahame. Marty and Vinny are just awesome this year, that 4th goal was a nice play. I am very happy after watching that one. Good job tonight by the team, now to get ready for another big game on Saturday against New York.

We have a great chance to bury the Rangers in standing and moral in the next few nights. 2 games against them is an 8 point swing in the conference if we can win both. That would be huge.

I don't know if it's been said, as I have barely had time to read the thread (I only saw the beginning of the game today) but I hope this game put any of the bring Grahame back ideas to rest. Holmqvist is the man...end of story

****, I knew it was too good to be true. I must have died. I cannot believe you said that!

Oh, and yeah, I meant to congratulate Holmqvist on the shutout! Excellent work! He didn't let a softie in, which is the best part. If he plays like that for the rest of the season, the cup will be ours.

I kind of felt bad for Grahame. He has the making of a good goalie, but he's just not there yet. I never hated him, but I hated it when he let in easy goals. Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm glad he's gone and I don't think he could play here again for a long while. How did he play for Carolina today? Was Ward injured or something?

Also special teams need much congratulation! 100%!!! Two for two, and killing 5! (not that we should have had five)

Man I wish I could just preserve the team as it is with one exception—Torts, for chrissake please put Vinny and Marty back together. They are magical. Separate, they are truly awesome—this is true—but together they are one person with two sticks and four skates standing 12' 2" and they play like it. This game would have been 8/9-0 if they had played on the same line all game.

Tentative plan is for a group to attend last game in Atlanta on 4/7 but plans are not firm yet. Will keep you posted!

Back on topic.....so many good things to savor after this game! Holmer's first shutout, Vinny's 600th game with the game winner, penalty kill aces......

I expecially like Vinny's quote in the paper about when he came into the league he looked at players with 600 games as being "old". hehehe Yeah, 26 is still a spring chicken and Vinny could play some 629 games or more before he even turns 27!
