LA is most likely to have the 2nd overall pick and it looks as if LA wants a defenseman in the first round and Alzner may still be able to fall to them with Florida's pick.
LA wins that deal. Florida's pick isn't going to be low, that's for sure. LA's will probably not be as good. Then Horton for Brown? Don't think so.

Quality roster players. BTDT with the prospects.

Cory Schnieder, Luc Bourdon, 1st-07, 2nd-08 for Horton.

I don't want to trade out our youth but if Horton needs to be unloaded I'd mortgage our youth for him.

How 'bout the Sedin twins for Horton?

If you dont know that Schenider and Bourdon are value than you have no clue about prospects.

And taking a draft pick for a sure-fire NHL player is a gamble as well. I'd hope JM would be smart enough to get more.

Then again, I'm hoping he doesn't trade Horton at all and manages to convince him to stay and start listening to his coaches about lack of effort.
Now you've done it. You of all people here should know that we don't mention he whom we don't mention here here. Way to go. Now you've cursed us. Guess who we're getting for Horton.

Oh boy, hope you're joking. Gonna want to retract that one before a Canuck fan sees that. Sedin twins >>> Horton. Horton's good and gonna be real good, but the twins combined are far more valuable. That's the heart of the Canuck offense.

Plus you know the rule. We only trade with the Canucks every 6 years and it has to be a mega-blockbuster. Horton is close to that, but I do mean mega. See you in 2012, Vancouver.

The point of picking up Horton is to play alongside the twins. They are both setup guys and are in bad need of a right-handed right-wing goalscorer. Horton would fill that need and they can stay together for a few seasons.

I feel bad for the twins, they obviously need talent on their wing but the Canucks keep giving them grinder after grinder to work with.

I think it's a fair trade. Given what we gave up in our last trade to Vancouver, I'd say it'd even us all out.

Just having a little fun with the trades, that's all.

If Schneider's a senior at BC this year, I'd take it - otherwise no.

I think any deal that brings back a no1 goaltender will be well worth looking at.

So long as it's a Heatley for Hossa type deal, I don't want more garbage!

Horton, Allen, Auld for Toskala and a defenseman?

To FLA: Any Islander prospect besides Okposo (former first rounders available include Nilsson, Bergenheim, Tambellini, O'Marra, and Grebs - I consider O'Marra to be the only potentially elite guy in this group).

Chris Campoli or Bruno Gervais

a 1st round pick.

Naslund, Schneider and a 2nd pick for Horton.
Florida gets a proven star who will help you keep Bertuzzi around and an elite goaltending prospect.
Seems like good value for both sides.

Naslund is on the decline. Vancouver screws us again here. Schneider is a good G prospect, but man that trade will hurt.

If Horton is traded, what kind of package will it be? Honestly we aren't going to become a playoff team this year, maybe even next unless we bring in a top free agent, which is difficult. Prospects/Picks to rebuild, but im not sure Martin wants to do that and i wouldn't trust our scouting service if they had 20 1st round picks in one draft.

Overpayment IMO...

I know that Weiss isn't on the market but here is my fantasy offer:

To FLA: Carey Price, choice of Michael Ryder, Kyle Chipchura, Alex Perezhogin or Andrei Kostsitsyn, Ryan O'Byrne and 1st or 2nd rounder (depending of your choice)

To MTL: Nathan Horton and Stephen Weiss

I actually think this one could be good....Although simplify it and make it:
Horton for Toskala and another player (I would love to see Mike Greir)

So clearly, Horton's displeasure = plot twist.

The Florida Panthers: a badly serialized film series directed by Michael Bay.

For Horton and Weiss (who has been much improved this year), that offer isn't close. You're basically offering Price and one of the named forwards/prospects for Horton, with a 2nd rounder tossed in for Weiss. Keep in mind none of those players is an established force in the NHL, while Horton is 2nd on the Panthers in scoring while being inconsistent on an inconsistent team. He'll definitely light it up on a talented team with a winning attitude.
