Forget Chicago Pizza, NY Pizza...or anything else you've ever had. This chef is unreal...and you can talk music with him as well. Cool guy.

He marinates or sautees all vegatables (you will never want 'regular' vegatables on a pizza again) He uses cornmeal in his crust and you will never want dough crust again. Primo quality toppings.

worth the drive:

As a NY pizza purist/elitist, this sounds horrifying, but I will check it out. Since my pizza of choice has fresh garlic, anchovies and mushrooms, I am not sure about which "vegetables" I would want on the pizza to begin with (I remember the horror of my first trip to the UK and seeing pineapple and corn on their pizza) but I'm always up for a flavor adventure. Thanks for the tip.

Piiza wasn't invented in Ny so I don't understand what you mean by purist.

But if you want to go the purist route.

Here is a place to check out

Antica Pizzeria
This elegant Los Angeles eatery is decorated with art and antiques—including a sealed jar filled with Neapolitan air—that evoke a sense of southern Italy. Try the pizza del cafone, a white pizza with olive oil, smoked mozzarella, sausage, parmesan, garlic and rapini or the bianca del prosciutto, an original pie topped with olive oil, garlic, mozzarella, arugula, and fresh Parma ham. Vital details: 8022 W. 3rd Street, Los Angeles, California, and 13455 Maxella Avenue, Marina del Rey, California; $8.95 U.S.; +1 323 658 7607, +1 310 577 8182
The head chef in part of the Verace Pizza Napoletana society. Excellent pizza. Far better than any pizza in NY.

You make a very good point, but in general NY sets the standard for pizza in the USA (though those people who eat Chicago pizza would have an argument, I suppose.) The best pizza I ever had was in Cannes. That was so insane that I ate there 7 times in the 4 days I was in town.

Concur. I am always looking for a better pie. Matt since you are new in AH. Check out Porky's on Santa Ana Canyon. Pretty good place.

A good pizza is about good dough. I mean you can butcher a pizza with bad sauce and crappy toppings, but all things being equal from pizzeria to pizzeria, the dough is always the difference.

I've eaten plenty of pizza in NY and their "chain" stores are no better than ours. We have some hole in the wall places that are just as good as their hole in the wall places, they just have more to choose from than we have in LA.

Mulberry St. and Vincenzo's are my faves in the Valley.
I'm gunna try the one KJ recommended in MDR though.

Anybody want to sell an ipod?
I had the same problem once but my solution was to leave the glove box open so those ********** could see it was empty..and of course I didn't leave anything in the car except for those things I've hidden under the seat. ..sneaky ha?

It worked for me, ..just a tip.
I don't know if your thieves are smarter but those over here in Sweden bought it.

Best Pizza I've ever had was in Brussels.

Tubby, you used to live in NYC. Yes, the food overall is better, but the mexican food in New York is so bad....Benny's Burritos was the only remotely halfway decent mexican place I'd ever eaten there.

My favorite place to eat in NYC is this Buramese place on 7th betweend 2nd and 3rd ave. 1,000 layer bread. mmmmmm.
