Allright 'cause we wouldn't do it too.

Koivu is as valuable to us than Jokinen is to you. And I wouldn't trade Higgins straight up for Horton.

I guess it's the end of the discussion.

Trading Jokinen makes no sense which is why this one is a load of trash ..

From the Panthers' side, you have a player under contract for 3 more years, in his prime. No controversy .. Not only that, it raises his value, which is precisely why it would make no sense from ....

... from a trade partner's side. It would cost an awful lot more for a player under a stable contract ascoring at a point a game clip and teams that are looking to make the playoffs are not going to trade key pieces away which is what FLA would ask.

Well put. The Panthers don't need picks/prospects. They need players. This team/market cannot afford another three year rebuilding. Jokinen's cost would be prohibitive.

This is coming from the guy that said Iginla wasn't happy in Calgary either.

Nonsense.

i agree it's unlikely. it don't think it's impossible, though, and i don't think it would necessarily mean rebuilding.

But heck, if he's on the market, I could see Gainey offering the world for him.

Don't flame me, it's just a fantasy proposal:

To MTL: Jokinen and Horton

To FLA: Michael Ryder, choice of Plekanec/Chipchura, choice of Kostsitsyn/Grabovski, choice of O'Byrne/Emelin, Price and 1st rounder

Basically:

Plekanec/Chipchura, Price and 1st for Jokinen
Ryder, Kostsitsyn/Grabovski and O'Byrne/Emelin for Horton

I think it's not bad. That would give you two top 6 forwards for next year, a 2nd line center, a potential top 4 d-man, a solid number one goalie in the making and a 1st round pick.
Anyone else sick and tired of MTL proposals?

If Jokinen wanted out, he was a UFA at the end of last year and chose to stay and help rebuild this team. He knew it would take some more time and work. This year once again went down the tube when we lost Bert and Niewy at the beginning of the year, but this team isn't far from the playoffs. Our defense is much improved, our PP is in the top 10...I think if we weren't so unlucky with injuries and if we can work on taking less stupid penalties we are right with the pack of playoff teams.

I just don't buy Jokinen wants out - it doesn't make sense. I agree we should be listening to offers for Bertuzzi b/c there is no guarantee he won't walk away at the end of the year to join his buddies Gretzky and Jovo in Phoenix. They are a small market, good weather & golfing team as well. Also guys like Gelinas, Roberts and Stumpel could be worth picks/prospects to the right playoff team.

Jokinen knew if luongo didnt sign he would be gone. plus olli is the captain of this team, a great establishment, this is his team on the ice. i highly doubt hes asking for a trade.

nobody said he was outright asking for a trade. as others have said, it's understandable that he's frustrated at this point and although it's unlikely he'll be dealt, it'd be silly to not listen at all. also, i disagree that this is *his* team and i don't think his captaincy, such as it is, comes into play here.

Um, same result so far though...and that's without a healthy Bert and Niewy.

ill agree to dis agree.

what im saying is, sure he can be frustrated, but i think he also likes this team alot and wants to bring it into the playoffs, so i do think it comes into play.

Would you guy do a blockbuster like this?

Torres - Roli - Horcoff - Bergeron - MA Pouliot and a 1st

for

Jokinen - Van Ryn - Auld

Salaries about balance, you lose about 500K in salary,

I see it breaking down like this

Torres + Horcoff + MAP for Jokinen - about even
Bergeron + 1st for Van Ryn - you mildly lose this one(depending on the 1st of course, it's a decently deep draft)
Roli for Auld. - you win this one

Thoughts?

Ugh, I'd rather have the Canucks go after Bert, then going for Forsberg as random rumors have stated.(Injury prone Forsberg seems like too much of a risk). If Bert comes back healthy, he is going to be a huge peice of the puzzle for a playoff team. Hopefully he doesn't come to the west.

From everything I've read, Vancouver fans don't hate Bert. They may have become disenchanted with him, but for the most part, many Nucks fans continue to support Bert.

Since the Moore incident and his declining play, it just was no longer a good situation for both him and the team.

I go to Canuck games, and the year of "Moore-Gate", the last game of the season, they did the "jersey off our back" thing, and when Bert came out as a surprise, he got a standing ovation. Bert also got a standing O when he played for Team Canada at the practice session in Vancouver.

Granted, there are many in Vancouver who don't like Todd anymore/ever, but as for the people at GM Place, Todd got nothing but cheers his entire time there.

We're here to discuss about hockey. If you're sick and tired of something, go away and don't even care about it.

If you have something to say, tell me your point.
