standing room....why does the GEC not have any area for standing room only? or does it?

some younger people prefer standing at sporting events as opposed to sitting. you can get into it more.

There is standing room area. They sold some during the 03-04 playoffs. During the first season we averaged over capacity, but I don't know if that was SRO tickets or not. But they really only make sense to be sold if the game is actually sold out.

I'm sure if you really wanted to, you could stand in the SR areas. In some arenas the SRO areas are marked (in Pittsburgh the stairs and some of the walkways/landings are marked space by space with SRO), but I don't think there is any area marked in the GEC.

as memory serves to sell standing room only tickets you need authorization from the fire marshal(safety reasons). this is done on a case-by-case basis, requires a demand and has limits as to number and location.

The fire Marshall allowed 21000+ for the SEC tourny no reason he should not allow it for the Preds. The team really needs to worry about selling empty seats first before even thinking about SRO.

uuummm ... a little different when you're talking about a 94' x 50' court as compared to a 200' by 85' wide ... that's probably why they can seat more in basketball as compared to Hockey games

What I mean is the Fire Marshall has allowed that many people into the HOP before not that we could fit 20+ for hockey. The exits are the same for Basketball as Hockey.
