I hope Burke remains the #1. I dont care if Garon gets another start this year. He's probably gone after this year anyway, and my patience with his consistency has worn oh so very thin. Allow the Burke Renaissance to continue, it's been fun to watch.

Agreed, neither will be in LA next year.

But I think you have to play Garon, hope he can play decent and get the Kings a mid round pick or mid-level prospect from a playoff team looking for a solid backup.

Burke has no trade value at all.

So who so we go into next year with... a tandem of Burke and Cloutier? or Labs and Cloutier?

I still think Garon is better then those offerings. (although that's not saying much)

It will probably be Cloutier, Labarbera. Watch Garon go pull a Huet, I doubt this will happen though.

Don't be surprised. All he needs to do is go to a team with good defense and his numbers will look great compared to his tenure here. Too bad too....I think in the next few years whoever we have playing goalie will look great....that is if our defense becomes as good as it should!

Yeah, I'd assume it'd be Labarbera and Cloutier next year. Labs contract isn't up is it? What's his UFA timeframe?

Maybe if/when he learns how to use his glove properly.

Seriously, the coaching staff spent so much time with him, reviewing film, technique, etc with his glove and he still hasnt gotten it. He holds it way too high, and "c_0_c_k_s" it when he goes to make a glove save that isnt directly shot at it.

It doesnt help that he's full-right too. Some shooters may be naturally inclined to go to that side, since its stick side on 95% of goalies. Combine that with his glove deficencies, and it's a recipe for inconsistency.

I like Mathieu a great deal, but reality is exactly that.

No way.

I'd take JLB every day of the week and twice on Sunday over any of the others, Burke included. He's still somewhat young, hitting his prime as evident by his AHL play, and he's definitely got something to prove next year. He's a rebuilding team's best option.

My ideal would also be JLB with B. Burke. People can say what they want but as someone posted watching Burke has atleast been entertaining. Ok hasn't been the most games but has far been the most consistent and put up the best stretch (Not that is was that great but compared to our other goalies most definately)
