Ideally, we'd like to have somone assigned to each day of the week and enough volunteers so we can cover all 7 days. However, if that's not possible, we'd like to have the busiest days of the week covered by one or more posters. Thursdays, Firdays and Saturdays are the busiest on the NHL schedule, but Tuesday and Wednesays have a handful of games as well.
We came up with the following schedule last season:
And we'd like to do something similar this season.
Any admin, mod or sponsor can volunteer to post events on a given day throughout the season. You can ask to take on a particular day(s) by posting in this thread.
Once we've assigned you to a day of the week, please note...
- Most online sportsbooks publish NHL odds either after the conculsion of the games the previous night or on the morning of the game. I can refer you to a few of my favorites if you cannot locate a sportsbook.
- Please post a link to the sportsbook or source for the odds you use for the events on your day.
- Try to settle your events as qucikly as possible. It's great if you can get to it within an hour or two after the games conclusion, but ideally, you should settle your events within 24 hours so the winners can use their winnings to bet on future events.

I may be able to take Wednesdays. Jim I know you say they put up odds morning of the game if not after night before games end. What time do they usually have them up? I leave for work usually by 7:00/7:30 but could easily post events before I leave the house if the odds are up.
As long as you think odds will be up that early I can take Wednesdays.
EDIT: I'll look in the morning to see if odds are up for Wednesday 10-17 in the morning before I leave for work and if they are I'll get tomorrow's games up. Also it will allow me to see if odds are usually up that early.

It all depends which online sportsbook you prefer.
I like Bodog, but they tend to put their odds up in the mornings.
They offer the proposition bets more regularly than alot of sportsbooks.
DocSports publishes their odds the evening beforehand. They actually list odds from several different books all on one page.
For instance, tommorrow's game odds have already been published.
OK Jim Wednesdays will be no problem for me. I got them up easily this morning in about 10 minutes. I used http://pointspread.com for the odds but I bookmarked both of the ones you suggested just in case they don't have any up Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. I think point spread had there's up last night so I can probably even go night before. Late games when I do them will get settled next morning be before work FYI.
I changed locations at work, so my schedule is a little different. I now work late on Wednesdays and will be getting home around 1:00AM Wed night/Thu morning so I'll settle all my Wednesday night games right after I get home from work. I'll still have no problem getting events up late Tuesday nights or early Wednesday mornings.
Just wanted to let others who make vbookies know... I had an event where the 1st item I type showed up as the 2nd and the 2nd as the 1st... But when I settled it they switched back and all the bets weren't on what the people had wanted... SO just watch out about that.. Check and make sure it's listed as you typed it in...

From the events I did last season, I actually made winnings for Vbookie, but a lot of the odds were made up by me. Then again, there were a lot of shootout odds that I took from sportselect and they multiplied to quite good odds, but people always lose on them. I think I made the most money for Vbookie with my Foppa sweepstakes.
Anyway, I respect the mods/admins wanting to use official odds, but I think the rare events like NHL Bra night (with Cowan and the bra thing) was kind of fun for people. After all, the purpose of vbookie is to let people have fun....or pretend to be Warren Buffet wannabes.
