I agree. I would actually like to see him and Regehr together for a couple of games just to see if they work well together. He has better speed than Warrener and is a good passer, and it may be worth seeing how he does against some of the better talent on opposing teams.

Aging rental, or not, Nolan will probably score 50pts this season. He also plays on the 1st pk unit, and 2nd pp unit in Phoenix. He's a solid, consistant, physical, two-way presence. By all accounts, he's also a valuable leader. If you don't want to deal Kobasew for him that's fine. I'm happy with Nolan, anyway. Don't act like Kobasew is suddenly some prince, though, and like trading him for Nolan would be the biggest overpayment in the history of hockey. Most everything I read from you people about Kobasew is dripping with dissappointment. The Coyotes are happy with Nolan. Guys like him can be valuable in the playoffs. He's a battler, and he's tough as nails. If Phoenix and Calgary's positions in the standings were reversed, there is no way I would deal Nolan for Kobasew. The deal is probably alot closer that you people think. At least close enough that insults aren't necasary.

i wouldnt make that deal simply because i dont want to give up on kobasew unless he is part of a deal where it will also help the team next season... as for Nolan i think he could be got for draft picks... but then again the flames dont have alot of picks left

Fair enough. I think Phoenix re-signs Nolan, personally. He'd be cheaper than any equally effective UFA replacement.

but will they be able to? thats the thing... he seemed to only go to phoenix because no one else was willing to take a chance on him... now that he has proved he can still play he will get alot more offers this summer

You don't think that deserves a little loyalty?

Not at all. Look when he has been forced to play mroe minutes in bigger situations due to injuries...he can onyl sustain his level of play for brief stints. After a bit he starts making bone headed decisions and turnovers.

I'm not trying to troll, but maybe these two deals put you guys over the top.

Boyd and 2nd for Tucker

Giordano, Kobasew and 1st for Stuart and Boyes.

I know you guys have alot of centers, but they're just an idea.

toronto fans seem to think Kobasew and a pick would land Tucker... as for Boyes i'm not really interested in him i just think he is very overrated... i'd like to take a shot @ stuart as a UFA but if the oilers wont pay as much as the bruins are asking why would the flames? no offense but the oilers need that help a whole lot more

Maybe if Tucker is signed to a reasonable contract, definitely not if he is UFA.

i'd wouldnt be heartbroken to see either of those trades happen. i doubt the bruins would send over boyes though in that deal. i like them both though

Bruins have to move Sturm, Stuart, Primeau.

Got a Joe Thornton? LOL

Anyway, Bruins stand to lose em, and Stuart has said he likes it out west..

Small cap hit considering the upside of Sturm and Stuart. Sturm has been having a bad year of it in boston, but I think it has more to do with Dave Lewis than anything else.

He would really solidify line 2..

Stuart pairing with any flame D would be awesome..

Could be enough to push you over the top.

Thoughts?

The bruins are not going to trade Brad Boyes with Stuart.

Exactly!!! A good 2nd or 3rd line winger would be nice, but an Aaron Miller type is the priority.

i dont want stuart if he's only a rental.. and i don't know how we would be able to resign him.. unless we forget about hamrlik next season.. but that seems redundant.. filling hamrlik w/ stuart plus having lost the assets in trading for stuart
