Why do I have a hate-on for my fav team?

I feel embarrassed or even ashamed to admit this publicly. Anyway, lately, for some strange reason I've been taking a perverse pleasure in watching this team blow leads & lose games. Tonight (while at work) I quickly checked the score on espn & noticed we were up 3 - 1 & just snickered to myself that they'll surely find a way to lose. Sure enough I get home & go online to check sports scores & see the Rangers did not disappoint.

I've been a Ranger diehard since 1982 & don't ever remember genuinely hating the Blueshirts like this. And it's not like I hate any particular player either. I feel really bad.

What's wrong with me?

Yeah I know what you mean. After the first period last night I'm all psyched, 3-1, we made a trade for a guy Islander fans will hate, things are good. I call my friend in Ann Arbor to gloat.

When we wind up losing the game, I'm actually a little happy because I think we're one step closer to getting rid of Renney and Sather. Unfortunately there are quite a few steps left for Renney, and like a million steps left for Sather.

Hate's such a strong word...

me, I become more disinterested as we get deeper in the season - that feeling goes hand-in-hand with the Rangers play - very often, they play a disinterested brand of hockey and they get paid to do it, whereas I pay to watch it.

Let's hope the nail in the coffin doesn't occur tonight.

The boos late in the third were pretty bad. Maybe the worst ive heard since 4 years ago.

This is what ive been talking about with the home games. They have 14 out the next 21 at home. with a 13 out of 17 stretch starting next saturday, with a 6 game homestand in there.
If they continue to play like garbage at home (and every indication points that way) its gonna get really nasty in the garden.

Maybe its a good thing so the Rangers brass can hear what the fans want, but coming out of the building last night - i did not want to spend another dime on this team this season. The fans are fed up, im not the only one.

I spent 120$ to see that garbage last night because 2 people bailed on me. Thats it, ill watch the rest at home.

Yeah I agree, I haven't hard boos like that since the 03-04 season. I never boo and even I did. Blowing a third period two goal lead on home ice in a playoff race and not even salvaging a point. Just despicable.

I would have been booing if I hadn't been spending all my energy on not throwing my beer at the two 9-10 year old little brats sitting behind the goal cheering for the Red Wings.

I think I'm the one with the bigger problem.

It's kind of simple. You get tired of watching the same mediocrity season after season. It would be quite different watching some of our kids grow, experience some pain along the way and hopefully mature. I certainly can watch Prucha, Tyutin and Henke. It's tough watching Nylander, Straka , and even Jagr. Renney has destroyed them for the year. I'm tired of the same old thing. I doubt that I will attend many more games this year. It's getting painful!

i have to agree with you on that.
my reasons for not going to as many games as i used to is due to having a 3 and a 4 year old running around just dont have the time anymore to get there.
but the way they been playing and the ever increasing surge of corporate night of entertainment fans it makes not going alot more easier to swallow.
i found its better actually, i got better instant replay and even more so with the tivo, i got a better seat with a unobstructed veiw, for the price of one beer at the garden i can get plenty liquored up and pissed off at home without having to worry about getting in trouble or annoyed by the opposing teams fans, i can certainly eat better and not have to worry about a disgruntled garden employee tea bagging my pizza or beverage, i certainly have more money in my pocket the next day and lastly when ever go to the bathroom i dont have to deal with the walk and missing the game as well as have the misfortune of walking into a cloud of nasty rank odor from someone who previouly was in there letting the dead animal that crawled up their but out.
this my sec #1
