Thanks, you just made me spit out my juice all over the monitor. Unless Jason Smith loses 10 years, and learns to skate with the puck, and shoot it, and pass it, and every other thing Bouwmeester has on him, this deal is clearly impossible. That's like offering Hemsky and Horcoff for Semin and Ovechkin.

Well, considering the two best players are coming to Edmonton, and one of them is one of the best young D in the league, the other a yound power forward, I'm gonna suggest that Florida wouldn't be really enthusiastic about making this deal.

Fixed it. But even then i dont see Florida trading away their future when they are obviously in rebuild mode

If we couldn't get those two guys for Pronger before the start of the season, why would Florida do a deal now for a less then FCP's value?

Each player coming from Florida is much better than the replacement we are sending back. There is NO reason for Florida to make this trade, they do not save any considerable salary, they do not get younger to help build and they are no where near making a playoff run which could possibly explain wanting Smith for his playoff experience (I know its a stretch, but its the only thing I could think of for explaining the trade).

You have to think about it this way Bkon, when you make a trade BOTH sides have to get something they want, and clearly Florida would get nothing they do not already have in both the players they would be sending the other way.

This is not EA sports, trades have to make sense (for the most part) for them to happen.

That deal fell through because J-Bo doesn't want to play in Edmonton. That's a fact.

I thought it was simply because J-Bo wasn't willing to negotiate a longer-term deal. That doesn't necessarily mean he didn't want to play in Edmonton.

that would be funny after what happened after the rumoured trade proposal that brought pronger to florida for jaybo, horton trade didnt go though...

because pronger > lupul/smith.

ZERO CHANCE.

That would be like Florida offering us Gary Roberts and Ed Belfour for Hemsky, Stoll, Lupul, Smid and Schremp.

There's a better chance of having a fling with J-Lo and not having to buy her a gift afterwards.

...... yeah, you're right, there's a decent chance this could work out in Edmonton's favour, in some way.... maybe with a bit of luck or something.

You guys all suck, you didn't leave me any sarcastic avenues!!!

Anyways, why would KLO make this deal. Horton is a locker room cancer, and is injury prone. JBo is an alchoholic and a traitor. I also read somewhere that neither of them like apple turnovers, so that's more fuel for the fire. And seriously, what kind of name is Bouwmeester, that sounds made up; it sounds like a nickname I'd give a friend in 1994.

Do you have a lottery ticket? Cause you will win before that deal happens.

Good chance of this deal happening
Maybe we can toss in Toby P and Threson and they can give us Bertuzzi (with salary paid), Weiss and there 1st round pick for the next 10 years

Sub out Toby and put in Bergeron. Toby is too valuable to this organization.
