This is more like a Habs PK: get the best chance on the opponent and strike such holy terror in their hearts that they don't do anything worth a dang thereafter.

Sad but true.

Loving Plekanec tonight.

The 4th line is also playing well, the 1st line shows some signs of life, but it's not enough.

Pleks wins the faceoff. The puck goes to Kovalev, he shoots and scores.

That's pretty much it.

The fourth line needs to stop icing the puck.

I'd be a lot less worried if any other line, but oddly, they don't ice the puck.

PP Habs... Bonk is looking pretty good and might just be what the doctor ordered in Higgins' case.

Something is gonna have to be done to get Koivu,Higgins and Ryder going. The Habs will not win consistantly without these guys playing their best. These 3 have been bad for about a month now and the Habs have been struggling to win.Who would have thought Higgins would have zero points in his last 9 games? He is not the same player since coming back from his injury.

That PP was intense, it didn't look like our normal PP at all. No big blasts from the point just incredible movement down low, very fun to watch!

seriously...I've wondered why Carbo won't try Koivu and Kovalev on the same line even strength.

I know Plekanec and Kovy have been good together recently but still..why not try this? We need a better first line.

Higgins-Koivu-Kovalev
Latendresse-Plekanec-Ryder
Streit-Bonk-Johnson
Perezhogin-Lapierre-Downey (until Begin gets back)

By the end of the month and into March, I think Ryder, Higgins and Koivu will be back in high gear. Hell, it seems to work that way as a team every year but I recall all 3 being non-factors offensively until around this time last year but a few weeks later. Remember Saku going 20-something games without a goal and Higgins scoring 17 in his last 30?

I think this is what'll happen when the opponents put a guy on Souray's face -- a 4 on 3 with lots of passing.

Theyre playing well without Markov. Montreal are 2-0-1 so far this year without him. Does anyone know what Montreal are without Souray?

Habs are totally dominated.
Yet it's still 1-1

Our defense is terrible. Dandeneault, Bouillon and Rivet have just been horrible for most of the year.

Pleks has really been something else this year. Friggen eh.
We need more shots.

Time to catch some of Vernon's ceremony.

Great. So Higgy isn't good, he's streaky? We don't need another Brian Savage.

I'd be happy if they just get out of the mid-season doledrums, the sooner, the better.

2-0-1 is correct

Markov missed 2 games with the flu back in the fall... OT loss to NJ and win vs. Islanders. Add the win vs. the Pens.

I wouldn't go that far, but they need to adjust to the 'Canes forecheck.
