Well... In off-season I didnt want habs to sign any forward because we have a lot of young player ready to play in the NHL but I was happy to see Sammy coming because he was great in Boston and IMO he did good in Edmonton. Well with him gone it'll be a good chance for Grabovski Perezhogin or Kostitsyn to get more ice time... Sad to see him gone but happy tos ee a young guy coming up.

Samsonov has been put on waivers.

The only thing i can figure is that BG has a trade on the table not involving samsonov that he wants to make asap which requires cap space and the only way he can arrange the cap space is to waive Samsonov and either someone picks him up or he puts him in the minors for now where he doesn't count against the cap.

Other than an imminent trade I can't understand why he would not try to move him in a deal for anything moving toward the deadline.
