He's a hard worker. You can't fault him for effort.

Who knows why he's become so **** though. He just seems to fanny about with the puck until he loses it, it's annoying. Might work with Olli, it sure did with Thornton.

(Habs fan here btw)

He'd be an expensive risk (3.75M next season), but at age 28 he might be high reward as well.
Walk away and don't even think about it

He started stinking during last years playoff in Edmonton

the moment he lost Thorton he was exposed

I'm sure the Habs would unload him for next to nothing right now. If a team has the cap room to take the gamble it could pay off. As was mentioned, he's still young, fast and this season seems more like an anomaly than anything else. He could very well turn it around and he a 25 goal guy again. If it was up to me, I'd take Peltonen for him. I think He'd look great playing with Koivu. It's a bit of a risk for both teams, admittedly more so for Fla because of the salaries involved, but Peltonen is a UFA and at least you'd be getting something in return ( and not some unknown minor-leaguer or pick).

So instead of taking a cheap risk on an unknown minor leaguer, you'd rather us take a 3.5M risk on an unknown Samsonov?

OR

Trade for a minor leaguer/pick, and use that 3.5M elsewhere. The only way samsonov will be traded will be for another bad contract, and Florida doesn't really have alot of those at the moment.

Good analysis. I agree.
