OT: Romantic restaurant in montreal?

It's that time of the year guys, where can I take the missus? I need a romantic restaurant suggestion from those who have lived here longer than I have.

Italian/Japanese restaurants are preferred.

Italian/Japanese ... hmmm, that's indeed a strange fusion cuisine.

Anyway, if you'll settle for French food, I recommend Le Paris, on Ste. Catherine, south side, between St. Mathieu and St. Marc (right next to Le Faubourg on Guy St.).

I meant either Japanese or Italian

I don't like French food, since I am vegeterian.

Chi chow (i think that's what it's called).

Very nice place, Thai Veggie/vegan friendly.

A bit pricey, but worth it.

I was gonna suggest Alpenhaus (on st-mathieu, i think) but since you're a vegetarian, dont think it'd be for you. but that place is surprisingly very romantic and fairly unknown...

The vegetarian Thai place the poster was talking about is CHUI CHAI on st-denis.

I recommend MAIKO SUSHI on Bernard St corner Hutchinson.
Beautiful decor, great atmosphere, amazing Japanese cuisine.
Very romantic place & its off the beaten path :
more secluded & chill than restos in downtown or on St-laurent.

My wife & I go there on special occasions.

Queue de Cheval is amazing also but not if you are a vegetarian.
But expect to pay A LOT OF MONEY for a meal & wine :
$80 for the best steak you'll ever have..

I've been at "La buena forchetta" (Italian) with my ex gf, she really liked it, nice ambiance. As usual, a bit pricey... I found it on some sites offering restaurant reviews... You could get more info on google..

Jardin Nelson

Doesn't fit your needs (as it is French, not Italian nor Japanese), but it is very nice.

Japanese: Takara ( Cours Mont-Royal), Zenya (St. Catherine) or Sakura (Somewhere near Bishop/St. Catherine). All good small Japanese sushi places. Avoid Shodan, it's just too crowded and pricey.

Italian: Santa Lucia is quite nice. Aside from that, Italian restaurants are pretty much all the same, except for chains of course.

Greek: Molyvos. My favorite restaurant for fish

well.. if you want to be romantic and cheap you could learn to cook?

It helps...

and most girls will appreciate it even if the food is not that good

While we're on the subject I need a good restaurant for sea food, especially lobster to bring my girlfriend. In montreal/laval/longueuil, don't care where it is but I want a good place to eat lobster, not cheap but not $100 covers either.

Chez Paree has an all you can eat buffet And if you're lucky you might see some NHL players

Taking your girl out for a romantic evening isn't "metrosexual". You must be single.
