We're Making the Playoffs

We're six points back of Minnesota with a game-in-hand and we play them five more times this season. Given the fact that I feel Colorado will flop down the stretch, I still really like our chances. The Oilers are going to make the playoffs and I'll see you all back on the wagon in a month.

I will gladly jump back on the bandwagon if the Oilers can do it!

I just don't think they have the horses.

If they make it guys and gals we all should have to put some kind of signature hailing Cerebral.

I'd love that to be true but could you please divulge what you actually see in the Oilers that makes you think they can do it?

He'd definitely deserve it. I want to hope for this team, but I'm not sure if they've got what it takes.

i'm still on the wagon albeit barely...and i'll still be on it until we're mathematically eliminated...but they give us no reason to believe otherwise...stortini was the highlight of the season...

I saw a lot to be encouraged about in the first period. The penalties really altered the flow of the game - the Oilers were playing very good hockey up until the two 5on3 goals. We're going to need some help on the backend for sure but we are in complete control of our destiny right now and I fully expect the team to go on a good run on this upcoming road trip.

Have faith in the Oil

I posted under the name Oilfaith101 and apparently it got deleted but anyways I truly believe were going to make the playoffs. I agree with Cerebral. This team looked like the team I thought they would before the season started in the first. Albeit after that they looked deflated unfortunately due to the 4 minutes of 5 on 3 time against them.

I truly believe although Lowe frustrates me for waiting he will pull a huge trade off soon. He seemingly does it every year and I think this year will be no different.

I felt this way after Game 2 in the San Jose series and I posted on here about having a feeling about the Oilers turning it around and great things ahead. I do have that same feeling that although this team annoys the hell out of me they still will make the playoffs. And once your in anything can happen. Who would have thought last year when the Oil were losing to St. Louis 1-0 and every other team that eventually they'd be playing in Game 7 of the finals. Things can change very quickly. It looks as if this team doesn't care but don't forget last year before the playoff run the team looked IMO just as uninspired as this years team has throughout the season. My as well stay on the bandwagon until it truly crashes.

One more thing... There is no point focusing on a magic number or point we NEED to have. IMO the only thing worth focusing on is the fact we have to make up 6 points and stay ahead of Minnesota after that.

Im with you. I had the same feeling after tonights game. Until the stupid 5 on 3's this team was dominating, and even until the end of the 2nd they carried much of the play. The playoffs are there if our guys want to be in it, and I really believe they do.

This team hasn't got the leadership at this point in time. I won't say that KLowe can't drag this teams sorry butt into the playoffs with a few good trades. But, I will say that this team as it stands now won't make it. Just my opinion, but if it smells like sh*^, plays like sh*^, and looks like sh*!^, guess what? It is!

Thats the key statement...isn't it?
As is...I really don't see this team making it. They desperately need help on the backend and to a lesser extent an infusion of grit up front. There are too many dmen playing in situations were they are going to fail more often than not. Anyone who thinks that the dman situation is going to improve without a major addition or 2 is a fool.
An optimistic fool but a fool none the less.

You need a history lesson. Germans didn't bomb Pearl, the Japanese did.

Wow, sorry you feel that way. Classic film and one that wrought a million copy cat imitations.

I'm putting you on double secret probation.
