Do we really need a UFA with a bad back?

Basically it's Ryder for a D prospect...

I would do Ryder for Bertuzzi straight up.

Let's keep it our secret but Ryder sucks. Bertuzzi would offer something this team despereately needs the only knock on him is inconsistency but it's not like Ryder is consistent.

I'd like to see Bob acquire any of: Forsberg, Sakic, Bertuzzi, Jokinen, even Nagy or any other proven offensive commodity

Since your other thread (the Christobol Huet must read one) got closed, I wanted to say:
All that came to my mind while reading this post was:
"If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding. How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?"

As for this trade, I don't think Bert would be able to solve any of our problems.

Jacques Martin has clearly stated he will not take offers on Bertuzzi (if a contract cant be reached with him, more than likely he will be shopped) that doesnt mean by the deadline either. But Martin WILL try to reach an agreement with him

So we're not allowed to make proposals just because the GM "said" they weren't going to move a player?

I was actually thinking the same thing.

As much as I don't like Big Bert.. I'd do this, to get rid of Ryder and give Perezhogin a chance to be dominant somewhere else, since he gets no loving from the un-named "coach" of our team.

Good! Keep him and his cancerous ways, I donít see how any team with any young, impressionable players would want him. Before the season started he said he liked Florida because he could golf all year round and there was no media pressure, he didnít mention anything about playing hockey or wanting to impress his new teammates, and I think that sums him up in a nutshell.
