Semi-OT: Jordan 3 back of Eric...

I never thought this day would come so soon, especially with Eric Staal's season last year, but Jordan Staal, with his 20 goals, is 3 goals back of Eric's 23. Who will end up with the most goals ?

What, in their career or this year?

I project both will play 21 seasons in the NHL and finish with exactly the same number of points. But Jordan will not have a GQ story and will remain bitter at big bro

Eric will still pot more despite being in an off season. I think he'll hit 35 once he starts clicking. We've been waiting all year, it's bound to happen before too long.

Odd that no one has brought up assist totals in the Eric vs. Jordan debate.

Rookie year:
Eric - 20
Jordan - on pace for 9

This season;
Eric - on pace for 39
Jordan - on pace for 9

I'm not surprised. Pens fans are surprised, and should be, that Jordan is putting up such nice scoring numbers as a rookie. Had Eric been in a similar situation his rookie year, the sky would have been the limit.

I think Jordan is going to be a great player in this league. Perhaps like a Justin Williams type player who scores nearly a point per game and gives you solid PK time. Excellent two way game, but Eric Staal in terms of offensive production he is not and likely never will be.

If Eric had Jordan's body at 18 years old, or even now for that matter, we'd be looking at Peter Forsberg v2.

I still stand by the fact that Eric isn't playing well due to the fact that he's fatigued and playing under weight though.
