Waiver question

If a player was waived down does the player also have to be brought up thru wavers to play with the team? How does this apply to Sammy.

Only if he's actually sent to Hamilton I believe, which Samsonov was not. Waiving a player does not automatically mean they go to the AHL (despite that being usually the case). Look at what happened to Murray this season - we waived him and he never went down to Hamilton.

Sammy was never sent down to the minors, so he does not have to clear waivers again. The only way he would have to be subjected to re-entry waivers would be if we sent him down to the AHL.

AS of right now, every NHL got there chance at Sammy (at full price), and every team said 'No thanks'.

Exactly.

If I recall correctly, if Samsonov is not sent down in 30 days, he will be subject to regular waivers again if management wishes to send him down.

Yeah if the 30 days or 10 games pass then he has to clear again.

Another question lets say Samsonov is sent down and then the Habs want to recall him at the end of the season does he have to clear waivers during the playoffs?
